Bainbridge Island Historical Museum
1969 & 1970 Auction funds helped move an old school building
Auction funds also helped pay for heating, display cases, and a new roof
Fort Ward Boat Ramp1971 & 1972 Auction
funds & members built the ramp, the first facilitybuilt through cooperation between State Parks and a service club
were used to construct the boat launching ramp at Fort Ward State Park.

1980-1981 helpedbuy a new ambulance
Library Expansion
In 1981 a major addition began, funded in part by Rotary Auction proceeds
Helpline House Storage Barn
1988 - 1992 funds helped build a new storage facility.Recently funds have been given to upgrade their telephone system and install a new heating and ventilation system.
Bainbridge Commons1994 – Rotary contributed
$100,000 toward the cost of building the Bainbridge Commons at Waterfront Park
More Library Expansion
$150,000 from the 1994-96 Rotary Auctions helped double the size
Ritchie Observatory
$15,000 to convert a former Naval radio-control center at Battle Point Park into an observatory
Bainbridge Aquatic Center
Kids Up!
$10,000 & hands-on effort, to construct the central pavilion in the Kids Up play area at Battle Point Park
Boys and Girls ClubRotary contributed $125,000 toward construction of the Boys & Girls Club facility
ScholarshipsThe first Bainbridge Island Rotary Scholarship—for $250—was awarded in 1957.
Statement of Award: “The Rotary Club has for its purpose the development of the ideal of unselfish service to community and nation. In relation to this purpose, a scholarship will be awarded each year to a graduating senior planning to further his education, who has performed creditable service to school and community.”
Service Above Self Scholarships
1996-1997The club expanded its scholarship
program and increased emphasis on
community service as a factor in determining
scholarship recipients.
ScholarshipsIn 2010, the Club awarded college education grants worth a total of $21,250 to nine Bainbridge High School graduating seniors.
In 2011, the program expanded to include up to $5,000 worth of grants to students pursuing a vocational or technical education.

1984-1985$5,000 toward the purchase of new uniforms$5,000 to the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center
2000-2001
School bus boat for GuatemalaThe club awarded $4,400 to buy a boat and engine for a water taxi service for school children in Guatemala.
Uganda discovery projectThe club approved $6,000 for a discovery process, to include two Rotarians traveling to Uganda to investigate possible international projects.
