We firmly believe that prevention is better than cure and are determined to be a positive force wherever we operate.VPS Healthcare was the first private healthcare group to o�er free mobile mammography in the UAE, and thousands of women have been screened. As a tribute to H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the UAE, we have launched a global initiative to provide 1,000 free cardiac surgeries to the needy. As part of this initiative, we have already conducted more than 175 free cardiac surgeries. In addition to this, we work with non-profit organizations like UAE Red Crescent to treat people in need.

VPS Healthcare’s multinational operations comprise a network of hospitals and medical centres, on-site, homecare and occupational health services, dental education, pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthy eating, patient concierge services, and retail pharmacies. The group’s integrated healthcare delivery system provides primary, secondary and tertiary care in various specialties.
In just 11 years, VPS Healthcare has established itself as a significant player in the private healthcare industry with 22 operational hospitals, over125 medical centres and allied services. The group acquired renowned hospitals in India and has further expansion plans in the UAE.
The VPS Healthcare team of more than 13,000 employees includes over 1,700 doctors and served over 3.7 million patients in 2017. Our surgeons carried out nearly 54,000 procedures across65 operating theatres.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil founded VPS Healthcare in 2007, having been a practicing radiologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. He studied at Kasturba Medical College in India where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, adding a Master’s in Radiology fromSri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute.
After opening his first hospital in Abu Dhabi, he diversified into related healthcare businesses within the GCC and India.
Dr. Shamsheer is the youngest recipient of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, bestowed in 2014 when he also became the youngest Indian to receive an honorary Doctorate from Aligarh Muslim University, India.
Not only is Dr. Shamsheer a committed healthcare professional and astute entrepreneur, he is a generous philanthropist associated with significant political and humane causes. His strategies are fully demonstrative of his vision to work for a better tomorrow for all.

The company’s $1.5 billion expansion programme is led by the new Burjeel Medical City in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, a tertiary-care complex that will be the UAE’s largest private hospital when it opens in 2019.
The landmark project focuses on ultra-specialised domains such as oncology, long-term care, and wellness, along with advanced imaging, emergency, and endoscopy, a rehabilitation centre with prosthetics and orthotics services, outpatient clinics, and state-of-the-art operating theatres and critical care areas. The new facility will comprise a 400-bed hospital, long-term care villas, administrative buildings, and a mosque together covering 102,000m² of floor area.
Burjeel represents high quality of medical care, coupled with personalised hospitality services such as valet parking, exquisite VIP lounges, spacious lobby and garden areas, and upmarket restaurants and cafés. Although there are standard rooms, the emphasis is on suites, the largest with five bedrooms, so the entire family can stay in comfort and give their loved ones personal support while they undergo treatment.

Aspiringglobal playerWithin the next decade, LIFEPharma will grow to become a multi-million-dollar enterprise in finished dosage medication, with a competitive presence in the US, Europe, Canada, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Mexico, Japan, and China, as well as licensing arrangements in other parts of the world.
Besides the GCC and Africa, LIFEPharma is already exporting medicines to Asia, Europe, North and South America. Aiming to become a global player in pharmaceutical manufacturing, LIFEPharma has created production facilities of the highest standards and achieved accreditation from many regional and international health authorities.
The company’s current Dubai factory manufactures tablets, capsules, liquid suspensions, and syrups. It has been approved by the U.S. FDA, European Medical Agency, as well as health ministries in the UAE, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Bahrain, Ivory Coast, and Iraq.
LIFEPharma has embarked on major expansion, investing over $ 250 million in a new pharmaceutical research and manufacturing plant in Abu Dhabi, with the goal of being the first in the GCC to produce cancer-treating medication. The 17,000m2 plant will adhere to international standards specified by globally recognised authorities such as the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, and the U.S. FDA.
Alongside cancer control and research, it will produce vaccines, sterile injections, and solid dosage oral medication for the treatment of illnesses such as hepatitis and influenza.

Burjeel Medical City (BMC) is a Tertiary Care Facility in the heart of Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi. BMC is expected to become the largest private Medical Healthcare Facility in the UAE. The facility will comprise of over 400 beds, Long-Term Care Facility, Long-Term Care Villas, an Administrative Building and an Educational Tower – all covering a GFA of 120,000m².
At the centre of the BMC lies the Main Hospital with its basement, 4 Podiums, 6 Towers and a Helipad for Airborne Patient Transport. This landmark project focuses on ultra-specialized domains like Oncology, Long-Term Care, and Wellness. It also includes an advanced Imaging department, an Emergency Department, Endoscopy, a Rehabilitation Centre with Prosthetics & Orthotics services, Outpatient Clinics, a large retail area, and a state-of-the-art Operating Theatres & associated Critical Care Areas.

This has earned VPS Healthcare its widespread reputation as a socially responsible organisation.
By its nature, VPS Healthcare is a community-centric organisation. Providing quality healthcare for all, at a�ordable rates, is a core business principle. In 2010 VPS Healthcare became the first private healthcare group to deploy mobile mammography units to increase awareness about breast cancer, an endeavour that led to a Guinness World Record in 2014 for the largest simultaneous self-examination for breast cancer.
As a tribute to the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the UAE, VPS Healthcare undertook the first global
initiative to provide 100 free heart surgeries for under-privileged people across the world. This was completed in 2014 and subsequently increased to 1,000 free heart surgeries. As part of the initiative, 30 children from Iraq and five from Ethiopia were airlifted to India to undergo life-saving surgeries. VPS Healthcare has contributed to the welfare of Syrian refugees under the ‘Our Hearts with the People of Syria’ campaign. The Group has also made donations to the Indian Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims.
VPS Healthcare has joined hands with the UAE Red Crescent to support the ‘Yemen: We Care’ campaign and has also been actively engaged with the Government of India’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, the country’s largest cleanliness drive launched in 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the campaign VPS Healthcare has helped clean streets, roads, and infrastructure in more than 4,000 cities and towns.
VPS Healthcare also supported the families of victims of the tragic 2010 Mangalore plane crash in India, o�ering jobs and educational assistance. Many of those who took up the o�er still work with the organisation.
