Thank you Karen Farr and the Eaton Charitable Fund for having board member Greg Crump present to Big Brothers
Big Sisters Executive Director, Anthony Hollow a check in the amount of $10,000. This funding will be used to support our Site-Based, Site-Based Plus, and Community Based Programs. We are focusing our efforts on mathematics and reading programming which will be occurring throughout the school
year, as well as a focus on more teen activities for our Site-Based Plus and Community Based teen matches. Thank you for supporting our vision that all children achieve success in life! Thank you Eaton Corporation for helping us Ignite, Defend and Empower potential!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson County has a goal of getting as many wait list children matched as possible
in 2019. The Community Based program has already made 10 new matches this year! This is a call for more
mentors! We still have many kids on our waiting list, with the most of them being boys. In the past, we have
had some boys on our waiting list for years.
One Little who needs a big brother is Zack. Zack is a middle school boy who loves history and really wants a
big brother who would enjoy going fishing, playing football, watching monster truck shows and playing video
games. He would like a big brother because in his words “moms just can’t do everything”. If you know of a
man in your life who would have fun with Zack please send him our way! We would love to get the kids in
waiting matched as soon as possible. A big thank you to our current Bigs who selflessly give to our littles every
day, week, and year!

Defend Potential!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson County has two graduating matches from the site-based
program. Little Corey and Big Rob, and Little Boyd and Big Jerry. Corey and Boyd are both
graduating seniors and have bright futures. Corey will be attending Eastern Michigan University in
the fall and Boyd will be in the Jax 3 program where he will receive his associates within a year. Our Bigs,
Rob and Jerry, have been with their Littles for a significant amount of time which has allowed their impact
to be great. BBBSJC is extremely proud of our graduating matches and amazed to see how far they have come.
We thank our Bigs for igniting potential and wish our Littles the best on their endeavors.

Enjoy the light show at Cascades. This iconic Jackson landmark is quite the sight to see with water cascading over 16 falls as
the lights dance to music. These festivities take place all summer long from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Wednesday thru
Sunday 8-11 pm. During the summer months you can expect to hear live music and see costumed characters, along with the
beauty of the Cascades Falls. Live music can also be enjoyed every summer Saturday in the Rotary Bandshell at Sparks Park.

A special thank you to our Golf Fore Kids’ Sake Event Sponsor OmniSource for helping make this year’s event, a special one. With additional sponsorships
from Hankerd Hills, Dr. Steven Hoekman, Integro and Peak Manufacturing, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson County was able to raise over $27,000 on
June 14th. Dawn Foods donated delicious doughnuts and brownies along with Hankerd Hills providing hot dogs at the turn. A delicious chicken barbecue
and beef brisket dinner highlighted the day. All golfers had a beautiful day to golf as you can see by the pictures bordering this page. We were fortunate to
have 146 golfers supporting our program and enjoying the fellowship that an outing like this provides. Anthony Hollow, Executive Director
