IBDV is widely present in Peru, classical and variant(both A and E) strains are well recognized.

(Icochea 2001, Banda 2006, Ceva findings until 2006)

Since 2004 clinical cases of Bursal Disease werereported in Puerto Maldonado region (south east and faraway from poultry producer areas). In August 2007 theregion was visited and bursa samples were collected

High mortalities between 28 35 d.o. Layer pullets up to 60% Broilers up to 30%

Samples were taken from three different farms 19 d.o. layers pullets apparently normal 35 39 d.o. broilers with history of clinical IBD at 28 days 27 31 d.o. broilers showing clinical signs of the disease.
