2019 was a year of new beginnings for Arizona's public teaching health system. After more than 140 years serving Arizona's most critical health care needs,Maricopa Integrated Health System changed its name to better reflect the important role it plays in the lives of ALL Arizonans.

The "VALLEY" in our name represents the exceptional, compassionate careprovided throughout Maricopa County, one of the largest and fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country. Our hospitals and 12 community health centers throughout the Valley are there to treat all who walk through our doors with dignity and respect, regardless of their ability to pay.

"WISE" signifies nearly a century-and-a-half of wisdom gained serving Arizonaas a teaching hospital, and for our role as one of Arizona's oldest and largestphysician training programs. With nearly 3,500 medical learners rotatingthrough our system each year - YOUR doctor likely trained at Valleywise Health.

New buildings, new programs, new donors, new beginnings and a newname - we invite you to go ALL IN with our Foundation as Valleywise Health transforms care to improve community health. The groundwork is laid, and the rest of the story is ours to write - together.

Valleywise Health Foundation's first Phoenix Suns Charities grant was awarded in 2019. The $10,000 gift supported Arizona children and families through the four Valleywise Health Family Learning Centers.

We support the mission of Valleywise Health to provide exceptional care, without exception, every patient, every time…

Great things take a village (or in our case a Valley)to achieve, and in 2019 our community stepped upto support our public teaching health system morethan ever in our history.

A new name and brand, long-planned constructionmilestones, expanded community support andrecord-setting success - all happened in 2019.

Valleywise Health Foundation's 2019 Legacy Award recipients, theArizona Women's Board, increased their annual support making the new Valleywise Health Food Pharmacy program possible in 2019.

A $5,000 grant from the MAC Cosmetics AIDS Fund makes theWomen's Breakfast Club at the Valleywise Community HealthCenter - McDowell possible.

"I get a chance to be around women who are just like me andgoing through the same challenges I am."

Valleywise Health employees raised more than $8,000 in the firstEmployee - ALL IN with Valleywise Health Campaign. ALL INEmployee ambassadors pictured above following the inauguralemployee kick-off event.

Throughout 2019, DMG and Valleywise employees donated more than $229,000 to the Valleywise Health Foundation.

it takes a community...

In partnership with Entercom Phoenix, the first LIVE 101.5 GIVE-A-THON benefiting Valleywise Health took place in December 2019.

The two-day radio event exceeded fundraising goals and launched an ongoing partnership with the team at LIVE 101.5.

For 15 years, we've been involved and supportive of our Valley's only public teaching hospital and healthcare system, formerly MIHS, now Valleywise Health.

Valleywise Health has the best burn center in the Southwest, teaches the most doctors in the state, and does the most extensive mental health work in the county.

We are proud to support the health system whose mission is to serve our most vulnerable neighbors.

Now more than ever, we are ALL IN for Valleywise Health.

as they deliver truly exceptional care to every single patient who walks in their doors. The world class care delivered every day along with their mission to train future doctors is essential to the continued health of our community.  We are excited about the future of Valleywise Health and would love for others to join us in supporting the forward movement.

The Food Pharmacy allows us to treat patients as “a whole,”with healthy food, healthy food preparation and healthy lifestyle mentoring. This is the beginning of something incredible – patient-centered care that is changing the future for our families living with diabetes.

Tina Younger, MDInternal Medicine QI DirectorValleywise Health

We are so grateful for the Arizona Women's Boardfor making the Food Pharmacy possible...“

Investing early in programs like the First Episode Center, makes a tremendous impact, not only in the individual's life, but also on their family and the community. The typical cost of treatment for psychosis and schizophrenia includes hospitalizations, casemanagement, therapy support and more. There are manydownstream benefits to preventing this early, most importantly, young people who learn to manage their diagnosis and go backto living productive lives.

Alicia Cowdrey, MDOutpatient Medical DirectorBehavioral Health Services

Donors might not understand the impact they make, with something as simple as a backpack.

"A child’s life is filled with transitions, and one of the biggest is starting school. A backpack becomes the first personal belonging a child brings from home. It not only provides sense of security, but also, represents structure and preparedness for school."
