Activity Materials: map pages this document, figurines bought or printed• Print large map pp. 15-32, trim 2 edges, and glue or tape together.• Create stand-up soldiers from Defenders pp. 72-76, purchase plastic figurines

from local store, or use board game figures you may have on hand.• Label forts: Print & cut labels from p. 33, attach to toothpicks and stand up

in play dough at each fort, or, if map will be rolled up daily, glue labels direct-ly to map at each fort.

• There is always debate about “Who won the War of 1812.” The Americans claim victory and so do the Canadians. You decide! Keep a tally of wins and losses as you go through this study. Create some victory markers to place at each battle on your map.
