TL;DR : Graduate from med school. Pass all 3 step exams (3 attempts) within 7 year period. Finish at least 1 year of post-graduate training (2 years for IMG). Pass Texas JP exam.

Fill out personal info, training/work history & create account
Pay $1070 application fee. Your info is deleted after 14 days if you do not pay the fee to proceed.

2 – TMB creates Licensure Inquiry System of Texas (LIST) account for you. This is an online portal that shows the status of your application and materials and where you receive messages from TMB.
At your leisure, and in any order, start fulfilling the requirements in your LIST account. Your account is updated as TMB receives these items via snail mail.

Only after all items on LIST are received by TMB does your application get assigned an analyst and reviewed.
If anything is unsatisfactory your licensing analyst will post requests for additional items in the Lacking Reasons section.
Average time per TMB – 136 days for pre-licensure (completing all LIST tasks); 36 days for licensing once analyst is assigned
