Car Dealer Package (CDP)
CDP supports all processes of a car dealers daily business, e.g. administration of customers and vehicle data, stock management,
marketing selections and mailings, reporting and analysis of most important KPIs, organization of workshop appointments, sending
sms as reminder or birthday congratulation directly from CDP etc. One software to organize the whole company: CDP!
Only a few DMS providers offer cloud computing, and for sure Vector is the most experienced: With CDP Solution Vector has been
providing CDP in the cloud since 2002.
Vector Information Management
The life cycle of information important for the future is composed of its generation, saving and communication, before it transforms
itself into knowledge. Accompanying this cycle and steering it in the right direction is the purpose of information management.
Our Information Management Team at Vector oversees all levels of our customers’ information management – BI, planning,
modelling and simulation, worst/best case analysis, forecast, reporting, ETL, datawarehouse (DWH),... – through different platforms
as IBM Cognos and the excel based BI-Suite Jedox.
Vector, a fi xed star within the Austrian IT industry since 1980, is a leading developer and provider of soft-ware solutions for car dealers (dms: dealer management system). Furthermore, Vector has been successful across industries in the area of information management and business intelligence (BI) since 1994. International presence is given through its branches in Germany and Poland.

Due to the intense expansion to neighboring countries, Vector has developed a uniform programming version of CDP for Central Europe. 2014For 30 years Vector has been developer of car dealer software. For 20 years Vector has been successful across industries in the area of information management and business intelligence (BI). For 10 years fmade with its customer relation management program "fsales" has been Vector Business Partner.

2008Enter into partnership with Jedox AG (Germany), one of the world’s leading suppliers of Business Intelligence and corporate performance management solutions
2006pure Java development: ITP (Time Planer), IVM (Car Rental Management),…
2005CDP World – the graphical user interface with a Java base – is fi nished and released. It is praised by our customers, who regard it as being simple, intuitive and user friendly.
2004fmade, with its customer relation management program “fsales”, becomes Vector’s Partner. CDP and fsales offer more effi cient sales and distribuition management with a dedicated interface that allows data exchange between the two programs. This way, customer, vehicle and contact histories can be overviewed and are fully available.
2002CDP is offered for the fi rst time in the 'cloud' under the name CDP Solution. This gives Vector a groundbreaking edge over all vehicle software providers and offers complete service in all things maintenance, specially regarding servers, systems and CDP.
2001Foundation of second associated company, ‘Vector Polska/Warsaw’. Thus ensuring optimal support for our Polish customers.
2000Establishment of ‘Vector Academy’, workshops on a variety of topics held regularly. After certifi cation of both staff and procee-dures, Vector becomes ‘Advanced Partner’ in IBM Partnerworld.
1999Now as sole owners, Vector release the new Euro-ready software of the Dealer Management System re-launched as ‘The Car Dea-lers Package’. This year also saw the foundation of Vectors fi rst associated company ‘Vector Deutschland GmbH in Munich.
1998Marked a turning point in Vectors history. Due to reorganisation within IBM, Vector bought the licensing right to the Dealer Ma-nagement System. Vector establishes complete control over future development and strategies.

1997A major car manufacturer standardised The dealer Management System for all it’s outlets in central Europe. Thus the system was translated into Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Slovakian and Slovenian.
1996Rapid growth, necessitated improvements in control and management. As a result a new quality management scheme was im-plemented in accordance with ISO 9001 certifi ed and monitored by TUEV Austria. This scheme guaranteed the continuation of high quality in both software development and customer service.
1994Enter into partnership with Cognos, world leaders in business intelligence software solutions.
1993Installation of Dealer Management System in Slovenia and Hungary. The system was made available in those languages and enhanced to meet legal and cultural requirements.
1992Vector develop prerequisites for National Language Support. This simplifi ed translation of the Dealer Management System into other languages. Creation of language specifi c screens, messages, list headers and mnemonic abbreviations stored in indepen-dent tables.
1991The entirely new development of the Dealer Management System for the platform AS/400 was completed. The new product made use of all new features such as the integrated relational database DB2. At the same time smaller entry models of the hard-ware allowed the AS/400 marketing breakthrough.
1990The growing number of customers required a restructuring of customer telephone support. The Vector Help desk with dedicated employees and defi ned timetables were made available.
1989First installation of the Dealer Management System in Germany. All country-specifi c requirements like the brokerage of used automobiles or the additional tax on exchanged parts were implemented. Smaller linguistic differences between Austria and Germany were resolved.
1988The IBM AS/400 was launched. A revolutionary system but at that time only suitable for large companies due to its high cost requirments, specially designated air conditioned room and 380V power supply. The dealer management system ran in the so called S/36 mode.

1987Vector won contracts with several automobile importers, resulting in growing customer numbers within the dealer network.
1986Vector became one of IBM’s fi rst Business Partners and established it own sales department. The role of this department was not only to prospect for new customers, but also to make sure that existing clients remained up to date.
1985The prototype Dealer Management System underwent it’s fi rst pilot test. The results gathered at this experimental stage were used to fi nalise the product. The fi rst marketable version of the system was completed.
1984Vector won contract from IBM to develop a new Dealer Management System running on system /36. IBM retained in overall ma-nagement control, supervising product development plan and implementing product testing, ensuring continuation of good reputa-tion and quality.
1983The company developed IKAS. This was the fi rst Dealer Management System for the Austrian Market, a single user system with two fl oppy discs and no hard disc, based on the IBM S/23 platform.
1982Vector successfully developed software in specifi c areas. Notably in the development of a data exchange system, enabling direct billing between clinics and health funds.
1980Vectors foundation year. The company was created by four university graduates. Daniel Reischer and Gerald Langer, part of the original team remain shareholders and are still active within the company today.
