How Sea Water Damages Your Mobile Phone Easily

There has been quite a bit of discussion online on how one can salvage his/her mobile phone if it touches sea water and why it gets damaged easily.

Here’s some methods on how you can work on your mobile

phone should it gets wet or sea water came into contact with it. Method 1 : Disassemble the phone. Take the battery out. Pat the phone dry

using a clean towel. Put the phone in uncooked rice for a few hours (Absorbtion of water). Get a different battery and insert it in, try to restart the mobile phone again. See if it works.

Method 2 : Don’t turn your mobile phone on else it will fry the circuitry and

your mobile phone is screwed. Take the battery and SD card out. Next, place the SD Card, battery and mobile phone shell cover under the sunlight and wait for it to dry. After that, try to start the mobile phone again.

Method 3 : 1.) Remove battery as soon as possible.

2.) Submerge the mobile phone in distilled water. Distilled water

is non-conductive. This removes the salt traces between the circuits.

3.) Shake out as much water as possible. Or use a small vacuum cleaner to draw out air through the case by applying the suction to the various openings (charger, ear piece, memory card etc) for about a minute each.

4.) Cover in desiccant until all visible traces are gone. Placed the

phone in uncooked rice for it to absorb the wetness of phone.

5.) Remove the water indicators on the battery and the inside of the battery case. Without the water indicator, not able to tell if it is wet.

6.) Put the battery back into the phone and recharge it.

7.) After it is charged, turn it on and see if it works. Most of the time it will, unless the battery was left in for too long initially.
