Sub-theme: Politics And Christian Discipleship.Topic: Christians Not in Politics: Reasons and
Consequences.Text: Eccl.4:7-12; Matt. 18: 18-20.Aims: i. Find out why many Christians stay away from
politics;ii. Identify the consequences of Christians’
political stance;iii. See the many benefits of a positive change in
attitude.
IntroductionThis study is a sequel to the previous one. It is aimed at further appealing for a positive change in attitude. Whereas we have looked long at the dangers of getting involved in politics, let us now look briefly at the consequences of staying away completely out of politics. If individual Christian’s involvement has not yielded the desired result can and will Christians, massively trooping into politics based on the principles of Matt.18:18-20 and Eccl.4:7-12improve the situation? Have this question in mind as we go through today’s study.

Christians stay out of politics?b. Do you think some of the Biblical references they hold
for such passiveness like 2 Cor.6:14-18; Eph.5:7-8, 11; 1 John 2: 15-17 etc. justify their position and attitude?

Conclusion: Years of absence of tested and trusted Christians from politics might have brought Nigeria to where she is today. There is a call to reconsider Christians’ apathy and possibly consider Christians’ mass entry into politics that is a game of numbers.
Food For Thought: Sincere Christians are God’s best choice in nations’ politics for His will to be done on earth.

FROM GLORY TO GLORY.
“But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed to the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.” 2 Cor. 3:18.
From glory to glory is not moving from one state of emporia to another. It is not going from one state of being lost in the Spirit to the other. To go from glory to glory is to continually be changed into what you were created to be. It is to be conformed to His (Jesus) likeness. It is to increase in the character and nature of God. Romans 12:2.
God’s Spirit is working in the lives of his people and He is making their character and attitudes like His own. This wonderful thing happens only because of Jesus. We see the glory of the Lord. In 2 Cor. 4:6 “Glory” means his splendid and beautiful character. We do not see Jesus with our eyes, but our mind, heart, and Spirit are connected to him and through this He changes our inner through, our characters and our attitudes throught His glory we beheld.
In Exodus 34, Moses saw the glory of God for a short time, afterward his face was shinning like light, because of God’s glory. He covered his, because people were afraid to see his face. God’s people now have true freedom; they do not even need to cover their faces when they see the glory of God.
Paul is intent on directing Christians to focus on the spiritual glory of the new covenant rather than physical glory of the old. This can be seen only with a believer
Spiritual eyes. “For God who said let light shine out of darkness; made his light shine in our hearts to give us the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ”
As we move from glory to glory, there is something even more important for Christians to understand his supernatural power to transform us and God’s ultimate purpose and destination from every believer, to transform us into the image of his own Son.
This is the invitation the Lord make to all Christians, to have our lives radically transformed have and now by opening our eyes to glorious journey. He is taking us on from glory to glory.
