About VOICEYE Maker for MS-Word

VOICEYE Solution is about allowing a print impaired person to access any printed information using 2-dimensional code technology. VOICEYE is a 2-dimensional code that we use to encode text data and its size is about 1.5 to 2.5 square centimetres, it is used like a paper diskette. The standardized location of VOICEYE is at the top right or left corner of each or every other page and it contains all of the text information that is found on the page or two pages.

VOICEYE Maker for MS-Word is a software solution that gives the user the opportunity to create their own VOICEYE Code to share printed information with everyone. It is installed on your computer as an Add-in to MS-Word. In a matter of three keystrokes, you’ve created and inserted a VOICEYE into your word document. Use it with a document or as an image alone. It’s that simple.

1. VOICEYE Maker Installation

1) Make sure that any previously installed VOICEYE Maker program is removed and that MS Word is closed.2) When you insert VOICEYE Maker CD into the CD-ROM, it will automatically launch the CD.(If it doesn’t automatically launch, you can start Setup manually. Open the CD and run AutoRun.exe file.)

1. Please insert VOICEYE Maker CD into the CD-ROM drive. VOICEYE Maker for MS-Word Installation screen will appear. Click Install VOICEYE Maker for MS-Word button.

2. Review the license agreement and, if you agree, choose I accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next button.

3. Confirm user name, company name. Click Next button.

4. The setup status window appears and shows the progress of installation.

5. Click Finish button to complete installation.

2. VOICEYE Maker Registration 1.a. Click Add-ins button on the MENU bar. (alt then X)

b. Open VOICEYE Maker tab. (M)

c. Open About VOICEYE Maker tab. (A)

2. Once About VOICEYE window dialog opens, Click the Register button.

3. Make a note of the Mac address and obtain the Authorization key from the dealer, and Input the key in the Input License tab.

4. Successfully registered message will appear.

“Did you forget to register?” This window will open each time you try to create a code.

1. If you execute VOICEYE Maker without registration, there will be a 2-page restriction on creating VOICEYE Code.Click Yes, and register it, now.

2. Get the licence key from your dealer, and input the key in the Input License edit box.

1. VOICEYE (2-dimensional code) Creation

VOICEYE is a 2-dimensional code that we use to encode text data and its size is about 1 to 2.5 square centimetres, it is used like a paper diskette. The standardized location of VOICEYE is at the top left and right corner of each or every other page and it contains all of the text information that is found on the page or two pages. Use VOICEYE App (Free) or PC software to complete the scan, the text data which is encoded in the VOICEYE Code will then begin to play.

First of all, launch MS Word software, choose or type your document and if you wish, change the file name which you will use for the VOICEYE Coded document (if you create a document and do not name it, it will have no name in the Smart Phone history). When you use the VOICEYE Maker program, it will use the current document name to save the file, this will be the file name that will display on the Smart Phone in the History, this will be the same as your current MS word file name. You can of course keep a copy of the original document without the Voiceye code just save the VOICEYE document as a similar but different name on your PC.

1. Type a short sentence or copy and paste a block of text which you wish to encode. (Eg. Audible Paper with VOICEYE A4.)

2.a. Click Add-ins button on the MENU bar. b. Click All pages on the VOICEYE Maker drop down menu.

3. VOICEYE Maker Edit window will be opened, on the left side is the Voiceye code area and on the right is the text edit area. Now you have your first VOICEYE code.

2. Edit Text (Saved in VOICEYE code)

You can use the edit window to edit the text for a natural sound in speech from changing the spelling (using Phonetics) of a word to adding pauses with the use of a comma, period and other punctuation. Any changes you make in the edit window will not alter the text in the original document. These changes will alter how the text is read out from the code only.

1. Click on the save button (Right side of Page Title or Ctrl+S), after making the changes, to save the edited text. This will save the changes you have made in the edit box. Move to each page to change any text and save each page.This changes the coded information automatically.

2. Now we are ready to insert the VOICEYE into your original document. It will be an image inserted on the top left or right corner of each page. You can do this by clicking on the Insert All (Ctrl+Y) icon located on the top above the codes.

3. Each time you open VOICEYE Maker, the original MS word document text will be loaded. Click the Load Saved Text(Ctrl + F5) icon to load the edited text.

If you would like to see how the VOICEYE is inserted into your document, please move the edit window aside so that you have a view of your original document’s top left or right corner. Close the edit window (Ctrl+Q). You will notice the code inserted in the top left or right corner of your document.

3. Delete VOICEYE CodesInsert the VOICEYE into your document only after you have completed all your changes (Ctrl+Y). If there are VOICEYE inserted in more than one page of document, select all by selecting the single Select All checkbox. You can select all VOICEYE then delete. At this time it may be useful to press the F1 key to open and explore the Help & Hotkey window.

1. Delete VOICEYE from document by manually deleting the images or clicking the DELETE VOICEYE icon (Shift+Delete) on top or using the hotkey after selecting pages (Left side page list).

Once you have finished editing VOICEYE, you can insert this VOICEYE code anywhere in your document. You can insert it in the recommended standard top left or right corner or a specified location indicated by your cursor.

4. Save VOICEYE as Image

1. You can also save the VOICEYE alone as a bitmap (*.bmp) image file. Select the page (Left side page list) and click Save as Image (Ctrl+Shift+E).

2. Select the folder in which you want to save the codes.

Troubleshooting

When there is a failure to create VOICEYE Code

Sometimes you may experience a failure to make the VOICEYE Code. In that case it is usually related with the amount of text data which exceeds the capacity the code can hold. If the process has failed to create the code correctly, the VOICEYE Code will show a red circle and slash going through it, this is the solution.

1. When you have a failure to make the VOICEYE code. You can see the code on the left side of the page number with a red circle over it.

2. Solution 1 Change Resolution:VOICEYE maker provides 3 options for resolution (DPI) 300, 450, 600,900 and 1200. Click the box below the text window (Ctrl+5) to increase the resolution of the code.

3. Solution 2Change the size of VOICEYE code at options. (Refer to page.11 “Options 5.3”)

If you have a large amount of data in a page, you might not be able to make VOICEYE. Then you should try to reduce the amount of data on the page.

VOICEYE Printing GuideThere is only one requirement for printing VOICEYE. You must use a laser printer (@600dpi+) to ensure an accurate printout of the code. The VOICEYE Scanner is essentially a camera that takes a picture of the code. Reproducing the VOICEYE using a copier will also diminish its image resolution, making it impossible to accurately scan and decode.*Be aware that different laser printer and phone specifications will alter the scanning capability, basically the higher the camera specification the better the scanning possibilities. It takes a little practice, hold the camera close to the top corner of the page and then slowly pull away from the page capturing the code on the screen. (Refer to page.11 “Options 5.5”)
