P: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

P: Gracious God,C: have mercy on us. We confess that we have turned from you, and given ourselves into the power of sin. We are truly sorry and humbly repent. In your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things we have done and things we have failed to do. Turn us again to you and uphold us by your Spirit, so that we may live and serve you in newness of life through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord C: AMEN.

THE FIRST READING ACTS 2:14A, 22-32 PSALMODY PSALM 116:1-4, 12-19 I love the LORD, because he has heard the voice of my supplication, because he has inclined his ear to me whenever I called upon him.

The cords of death entangled me; the grip of the grave took hold of me; I came to grief and sorrow.

Then I called upon the name of the LORD:

"O LORD, I pray you, save my life."

Gracious is the LORD and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

I will fulfill my vows to the LORD

in the presence of all his people.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his servants.

O LORD, I am your servant; I am your servant and the child of your handmaid;

you have freed me from my bonds. I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving

PROFESSION OF FAITH APOSTLES’ CREEDA: With the whole church, let us confess our faith.I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,was crucified, died, and was buried;he descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again;he ascended into heaven,he is seated at the right hand of the Father,and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
