6th graders focus on farm Life and agriculture related to their everyday world with special emphasis on small animal care.

7th graders focus on garden design (including alternative practices like hydroponics), conservation, and real-world agriculture issues like GMO’s or organic vs. inorganic. They will also learn how to ‘show’ a chicken and gain valuable knowledge about bees!

8th graders focus on livestock, embryology, farm to table, and sustainability while participating in Supervised agricultural experiences in and out of the classroom and exploring technology related to agriculture.

All grades will gain knowledge about 4h and ffa opportunities. Students will learn about special projects that 4H/FFA members can complete outside of school. 4h/ffa membership and projects are not required for class.

Class Rules: Be respectful!Be responsible! Be a leader!

Agriculture class is typically a hands-on style class. Unfortunately, our current situation doesn’t allow for those same close contact activities. HOWEVER, we

WILL get creative while continuing to be mindful of everyone’s safety!

4H and FFA membership information will be passed along as soon as we receive. We will plan to have a parent

informational meeting in the near future. Instagram and Facebook are YOUR best sites for updates related to 4H and

FFA.

“Class” updates can be found on Canvas and on the Remind site.

Welcome to the herd! Most weeks I will select one student per class as our Top of the Herd individual. Independent learner skills will be encouraged like

participating in class, taking care of class materials, thoughtfulness toward peers, following class rules, attention to task, responsible work ethic, positive attitude, going over and beyond, being a leader,

sharing with peers, assisting a peer with a difficult task, etc. Top of the Herd (TOH) individuals earn

special privileges the following week!

Are you ready?!?I’m sooooo excited!!!

Ag classes are NOT as long as your core

classes, so your online work will consist of 3

days a week and should average about 30 minutes per day!

Resources needed for online:

6th grade = www.getepic.com/students or open the Epic app and enter class code = mzq6151 (Students will use

Robinson to access materials).6, 7, 8 = National Ag in the Classroom agclassroom.org
