PROFESSION OF FAITH APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;he descended to the dead.On the third day he rose again;he ascended into heaven,he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,

( + ) the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF INTERCESSIONPrayers of Intercession – Pentecost II

Let us pray for the whole Church of God in Christ Jesus, for the world, and for all people according to their needs.

(A brief silence)

For all God’s people, marked with the sign of Baptism, that we may boldly bear witness to the world, all that God has done for us in Christ;

and stand firmly against the demonic forces destructive of human life and well-being.Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For Elizabeth, our Presiding Bishop, and Abraham, the Bishop of our Synod, that they may faithfully guide the churches and ministries entrusted to their care; for all the Pastors of the Church, that they may faithfully preach the Word with power, and preside graciously and reverently at the Lord’s Table; for all engaged in ministries of service, that they may serve the needs of their communities and the world in Christ’s name.Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For all entrusted with earthly authority, that they be given the spirit of wisdom to govern according to your will, so that justice and peace may flourish throughout the world; avert from the world threats of war; and hold your protective and guiding hand over individuals, families, and children faced with an uncertain future.Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For the earth, and all its creatures, that we may be good stewards of the earth, and save it from destruction caused by human carelessness or malice.Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For all who suffer in this transitory life, and all who are in need of our prayers this day, whether we name them aloud or silently (…); give healing to the sick, help and comfort to all in trouble or sorrow, and to the dying the hope of eternal life in Christ.Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For all who have gone before us bearing the sign of faith, and are now at rest in Christ, we give thanks to you, O Lord; may we be sustained in faith until our last hour, and together with them, inherit the joys you have prepared for those who love you.

Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Hasten, O Father, the coming of your kingdom: and grant that we, your servants, who now live by faith, may with joy behold your Son at his coming in glorious majesty; Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate.Amen.

C: THE LORD’S PRAYER (TRADITIONAL FORM) OUR FATHER….

PRAYER OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNIONP: Lord Jesus, you call to yourself all who labor and are heavy-laden, to refresh them and to give rest to their souls. We earnestly desire to experience your love at the heavenly feast you have prepared for your people on earth. As we are not able on this day to be gathered at your Table, may we receive you into our hearts by faith, trusting the word of your promise, that “those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and will come to them and make our home with them.”Strengthen our faith, increase our love and hope; and after this life grant us a place at your heavenly table, where we shall eat of the eternal manna, and drink of the river of your pleasure forevermore. Hear us for your own Name’s sake. C: AMEN.

THE BENEDICTION P: The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and (+) give you peace. C: AMEN
