Sixth Sunday of Easter

May 21, 2017“I will ask the Father,

and he will give you . . . the Spirit of truth.”— John 14:16–17

Sixth Sunday of EasterPhilip understood very well Jesus’ words: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” We learn of Philip’s devotion to prayer, evangelizing and healing in the region of Samaria; made up of communities that would not be very receptive to the followers of Jesus. Philip is a model steward, living his discipleship day by day in the Lord without being obstructed by feelings of what cost his actions might entail. Good stewards summon the courage to proclaim the Lord and to serve Him by ministering to others. As an Easter people, eager to rejoice in the Lord, it is important to reflect on how we are living out our own commitment to discipleship.

NOCTURNAL BLESSED SACRAMENT ADORATION

FIESTA RAFFLE TICKETSThe Fiesta Raffle Tickets are here! Like every year, we are having a raffle with many great prizes and we ask everyone from our parish to help in selling at least one raffle book; the more raffle books we sell, the more successful our Fiesta will be. After all the Masses, there will be volunteers distributing the raffle tickets to our entire parishioners who are registered and not registered. This is a parish community event and it is important for all to participate and help; the majority of the proceeds are for the current needs of our church. Please stop by the tables outside every Mass or Parish Office during the week to pick your raffle tickets. Your participation is the key for the success of the Fiesta and the future of St. Ferdinand Church.

GLASSWARE FOR THE DIME PITCHIf you have any glassware such as: glasses, plates and cups, that you don’t use at home, bring them to the rectory and we’ll use them at the Fiesta for the Dime Pitch game. We have someone that can pick it up from your house, just give us a call!

Vendors Wanted!!!We are looking for vendors who are interested in renting a booth at this years’ parish fiesta.  This will give you the opportunity to promote your business to the 10,000 people that attend the fiesta every year.  For more information please call the Rectory at 365-3967.

Sexto Domingo de PascuaFelipe entendió muy bien las palabras de Jesús: “Si tú me amas, guardarás mis mandamientos.” Nosotros aprendemos de la devoción de Felipe para orar, evangelizar y sanar en la región de Samaria; formada por comunidades que no serían muy receptivas a los seguidores de Jesús. Felipe es un corresponsable modelo, viviendo su discipulado día a día en el Señor sin ser obstruido por sentimientos sobre el costo que podría implicar sus acciones. Los buenos corresponsables reúnen el valor para proclamar al Señor y servirle a través del ministerio hacia otros. Como gente de la Pascua, ansiosa de regocijarse en el Señor, es importante reflexionar sobre cómo estamos nosotros viviendo nuestro compromiso al discipulado.

Estamos buscando jardineros que puedan donar su tiempo para ayudar a limpiar el fin de semana de Fiesta. El viernes a las 12:30 a.m., el sábado a las 12:30 a.m. y el lunes por la tarde. Por favor llame a la rectoría y deje su nombre y número de teléfono y puede ayudar.

BOLETOS DE RIFA¡Ya están aquí los Boleto de la Rifa! Como cada año tendremos una rifa con grandes premios y pedimos a todos de nuestra parroquia que por favor nos ayuden en vender los boletos de rifa. Los más libros vendidos, más éxito que tendremos hacia nuestra fiesta. Después de cada Misa, habrá voluntarios distribuyendo los boletos de rifa a todos los feligreses que sí o no están registrados dentro de la parroquia. Se trata de un evento de la comunidad parroquial y es importante que todos participar y ayuden; la mayoría de las ganancias son para las necesidades actuales de nuestra iglesia. Favor de pasar por las mesas afuera de cada Misa o la Oficina Parroquial durante la semana para recoger sus boletos de la rifa. Su participación es la clave para el éxito de la Fiesta y el futuro de la Iglesia.
