Overview

Date: May 2-5, 2019Location: Montreal, Quebec (Circuit Giles Villeneuve)

The Defi Sportif is Canada’s Premier Para Cycling event held every year in Montreal. UCI points are available making it a valuable race for our athletes to attend. Team Ontario will attend with the purpose of helping athletes achieve national team standards and progressing to a senior national team (or NextGen program). The event involves two (2) races; Time Trial and Road Race.

Athlete Participation:

All Ontario athletes interested in receiving coaching, mechanical, and on-site support during this project must complete the following application no later than April 15, 2019.

Requirements:

1) Hold a valid Ontario issued 2019 UCI License

2) Completed the CCES Anti-Doping Course within the past 2 years [see details below]

3) Must wear the Team Ontario jersey during competition [exceptions made for trade team athletes and those wearing World Championship jersey]

4) Athletes are required to make their own travel/accommodation arrangements

5) Athletes must register themselves for their race(s)

Chargebacks:The OCA will not be issuing a chargeback for this project.

Race Fees: $65 Race Entry Fee (before April 5th)$85 Race Entry Fee (after April 5th - registration closes April 29th)

Health and Safety

In the event an athlete is injured or falls seriously ill and is required to be transported back to Toronto, transportation will be made from Montreal International Airport [Pierre-Elliott Trudeau] at the cost of the athlete.

Any perceived head injury will require the application of OCA Concussion Policy. http://www.ontariocycling.org/forms/oca-concussion-policy/ Any return to training/competition will require doctor’s clearance and family clearance [if under 18].

Anti-Doping Training

All athletes are required to have completed the CCES True Sport Online Anti-Doping Course within the past two years. Athletes must provide evidence of completion to [email protected]
