Studio health and safety regulationsHow to set up a still life and portrait shoot(I have notes that go into more detail for each workshop)

- How the workshops have helped me with my shootThe lessons we had taught me what aperture, shutter speed and ISO to use for a still life shoot. Also, the lessons informed me on what type of lights to use (continuous lights). The composition was also influenced by a tip from our second lighting session where we were advised to have the handle on the right side of the image so the consumer feels like they can reach through the image and drink the beverage.

- Evaluating what I’ve learnt and analysis of my images (short individual analysis captioned under each photo above)

A lot of my photos, particularly the close ups, have very uneven lighting. In hind site I should have moved the lights around to benefit the new angle or compensated the low light by lowering the shutter speed or aperture. Also, many pictures are out of focus, which is something that I need to keep in mind to pay closer attention to in the future.

- How it felt working within a team and what my role wasI enjoyed working in a team for the shoot because within a team we were able to explore a larger range of ideas. My role, like the other members, was to take photos and adjust my own lighting, composition and camera settings.

- What meaning are you trying to convey through your work? The minimalism of the composition, leaving a lot of gaps in frame, portrays the idea that tea is a simple joy with few ingredients.
