WritingLearning Target: I can write my letters.

We have continued to work on letter formation. Next week we will be taking an assessment on writing letters. If your child cannot write all his/her letters independently, please work on that at home. Just work on a couple letters a night so that he/she does not get overwhelmed. Be looking for the assessment later next week.

We continue to write simple sentences focusing on beginning and ending sounds in the words and matching our words to the picture we draw.

We have read Goldilocks and the Three Bears this week. We read several editions of the classic version. We talked about the similarities and differences. We filled out a Venn diagram about it, too! We also read several books about Goldilocks that were a bit different, like Goldie Returns, Gordon Loggins and the Three Bears, Goldilocks and the Three Hares and several more. We have continued our counting and calendar routine as we will throughout the year. We have also worked on comparing numbers and groups. We have been able to tell which group is greater than and less than. We have also been able to do the same with numbers (numbers through 10). I am really impressed at how quickly they are getting a numbers sense and a class!
