We can host your Ceremony inside your Ballroom or outside in your Manicured Garden overlooking the beautiful Hudson River.

This is a very exciting time for you and your family. We are sure youhave a lot of questions! So here are the answers to some of our mostfrequently asked questions.
How much is the deposit and when is the next payment due? The initial deposit is usually $1,000.00. All deposits are non-refundable.Your payment information is located on the bottom of the first page of your agreement.
How do I make payments? Payments can be made in either cash or check. Personal checks are accepted up until one month prior to the event date. We do not accept credit cards. Your final payment is made by either cash or certified/bank check only.
When do I select my menu, linen colors, and wedding cake? We call that your menu visit. You should schedule your visit to be 3-4 months before the date of your wedding. This allows usplenty of time to place your orders, and gives you plenty of time todecide on your menu choices. Directional maps, place cards, and floor plan will also be provided at this visit.
What about discounts? Discounts are given after you have met your adult minimum.Children four to ten years old are ½ price. Children three andyounger are free. Professionals are $80 each.
We offer discounts up to 20% per person for functions takingplace December through March. This discount does not apply toceremony costs or upgrades.
When is my final head count due? Your head count is due 5 daysprior to the day of your wedding. 10 days before the wedding, youshould call The Grandview with your approximate guest count in thefollowing terms, so we can provide you with the final invoice.

When do I bring in my favors, toasting flutes, place cards etc…? Your floor plan, favors, place cards, and other collectibles should comein 5 days prior at your final visit. They should be labeled with thecouple’s last names and date of the wedding. Your place cards shouldbe in alphabetical order by last name. Any special instructionsshould also be noted. Permission from The Grandview is requiredif you need us to set-up anything beyond the items listed above.Additional cost may be charged for increased labor. We do not set up centerpieces.
All extra favors, wedding gifts, and flowers should be brought homethe evening of the wedding. The Grandview cannot be heldresponsible for the replacement or value of any items left behind.
Do you provide candles?The Grandview includes the following votive candles in yourwedding package: one on every cocktail table, several around yourcake table, on the bars, across your place card table, gift table, headtable and two on every dining table. The votives are white, non-scented, 6-hour candles in a clear glass cylinder.
Flowers and Other Decorations The Grandview decorates your cocktail stations with floral accents and candles. These floral arrangements are subject to seasonal availability and house design. Upgrading these arrangements is an available option, and subject to additional fees. You are welcome to hire any insured florist or decorating company to provide centerpieces and additional decorations. These professionals must supply The Grandview with proof of liability insurance.
What about tastings? The Grandview proudly hosts tasting events roughly 10 times a year. Included in your wedding package are (2) two tasting tickets to (1) one tasting event at no charge. Tastings will only be done on the weekday dates stated on our website. We limit our reservations to 75 guests per tasting to create an intimate and personal setting. It is highly recommended to make the required reservations as soon as possible to ensure that your party will be able to attend a date that is most convenient for you. Please speak with your wedding coordinator for details.
What staff is included in this wedding package?Each wedding will have a maitre ‘d, a captain, a wedding attendant, one server per ten guests, one bartender per fifty guests, and an on-site manager, plus valet parkers and shuttle driver(s).
Do you serve shots? Due to safe alcohol service, we are not permitted to serve shots at any time.
Can I have a ceremony rehearsal? You can rehearse your ceremony at The Grandview. You may bookyour rehearsal time and date one month prior to your actual weddingdate. Ask your wedding coordinator for details. We cannot book your rehearsal sooner than this.
Is there transportation between The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and The Grandview? Shuttle transportation is included for guests of The PoughkeepsieGrand Hotel to The Grandview starting one half hour prior toyour wedding. The service is reserved for guests of thePoughkeepsie Grand Hotel with overnight accommodations only,and is available to them at no additional charge.
