Tudor Barn Eltham is all that remains of the country mansion built in 1525 by William Roper for Margaret Moore, daughter of Thomas Moore, Lord Chancellor to King Henry VIII. Set within 13 acres of award winning parkland and overlooking a medieval moat, Tudor Barn Eltham is one of only a handful of Tudor Barns still standing today and the only one in London.

The 16th century barn is a haven of peace and tranquillity situated just 20-minutes from central London and offers the perfect ‘rural’ wedding location within the M25.

Every wedding at Tudor Barn Eltham is truly unique and your special day will share the romance of some of historys most celebrated marriages, including that of Hubert Bland and Edith Nesbit, author of The Railway Children. The Tudor Gallery, our first floor event space, boasts original Tudor beams and historic stained glass windows whilst the beautiful building is surrounded by landscaped gardens and outdoor areas such as the Moat Terrace and the Tudor Lawn – ideal locations for summer receptions.

Our Tudor Gallery is licensed to host civil ceremonies and partnerships for up to 200 guests and, with the ability to partition off smaller areas, the Gallery is also ideal for smaller weddings of 4-60 guests*

Once you have confirmed your big day at Tudor Barn Eltham, you will need to ensure you contact Royal Greenwich Registry Office on 020 8921 5015 for further details on how to apply for your licence and book your registrar.

The Tudor Gallery features a private entrance leading directly from the Tudor Lawn – ideal for al fresco drinks receptions. Accommodating up to 190 guests for a seated wedding breakfast and up to 300* for your evening party, the Tudor Gallery is self-contained with a private fully licensed bar and restrooms.

Our events team will work with you on all the elements of your day; providing guidance with itineraries, layouts, choosing colours, booking your wedding suppliers and sourcing entertainment. For larger weddings our Tudor Lawn and Moat Island can accommodate a marquee for up to 480 dining guests.

As part of your booking at Tudor Barn Eltham we provide a group tasting experience where you and your partner can taste our chefs culinary skills as well as a selection of wines before deciding on your final wedding breakfast choices.

HOW TO FIND US

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Eltham Railway Station is only 5 minutes away with fast trains to London Bridge via Lewisham (DLR). There are also regular Buses (124, 132, 160, 161 and 286) to Bromley, Catford, Chislehurst, Eltham and Woolwich.

PARKING FACILITIES

Private Parking - is available within walking distance of our Tudor Barn, this can be hired for all private events and weddings. Public Parking can be accommodated along Kidbrooke Lane, which must be accessed from Westhorne Avenue. Well Hall Road has a 90 minute parking restriction, which uplifts at 5:30pm.

THE PLEASAUNCE

Well Hall Pleasaunce was restored in 2002 with money from the Heritage Lottery Fund and has since won the prestigious Green Flag Award. The recorded history of the site dates back to the 13th century and in Tudor times it was owned by the Roper family and the walled gardens are from those times. Its most celebrated occupant was childrens author Edith Nesbit and lived there from 1899 until 1922.

BY ROADThe South Circular (A205), A2(M) and A20(M) are only minutes away giving fast access to the whole of London and Kent. The M25 is 15 minutes away.
