RCC is seeking volunteers Monday through Friday for morning and afternoon shifts this semester. Morning shifts are 8:30am to 11:30am and the afternoon shifts are 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Interested students can send an email to [email protected] to set a day/time to meet. RCC is located at 457 West Virginia Street.

VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE

In the early 70’s Gary Iskowitz, was doing graduate work as well as teaching tax law while working for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agency. Mr. Iskowitz saw a growing problem with questionable tax preparers who were scamming low-income people in his area. He did not like what he saw! The rest, they say, is history! 40 years later, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is still going strong. If you would like to continue Iskowitz’s legacy by volunteering, contact the Site coordinator in the UF/IFAS extension office at [email protected] or stop by their office: 615 Paul Russell Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32305. No experience is needed! They will train you. Hours are flexible.
