Principal’s Notes:
Thursday, April 5, 2018
Dear ALCS Community,
We would like to inform you that our co-worker and sister in Christ, Mrs. Donna Muller, has accepted a position at Ochsner Health Systems as an Academic Community Outreach Coordinator. She will be working with schools, teachers, and students in the Greater New Orleans Area to bring the love of STEM and Science to their classrooms. Mrs. Muller said, “I am very excited to impact my community in a greater capacity.”
We have been privileged to have her work beside us in ministry at ALCS for the past five years. We thank her for her service and ask that God bless her in her new position as she reaches out into the community to various schools including Atonement. Her last official day will be Friday, April 20, 2018.
We have initiated a process to fill her various and many capacities with current Faculty/Staff for the short term to complete the 2017-18 school term. In addition, we will also begin the process at looking at long term plans for staffing the many areas that Mrs. Muller covered in her time at ALCS. In our Lord’s service,
Rev. Tim Schutt and Mr. Doug Molin

KINDERGARTEN – GRADE 8 ARE IN THE MIDST OF ACHIEVEMENT TESTING THIS WEEK through this Friday, April 13. This testing is a measurement of where students are academically up to this point in the school term. Students don’t “study” for this testing because again it is simply a measurement of what they have learned up to now. To minimize potential student anxiety, the faculty and I recommend that families remain in normal routines. Probably the best preparation for testing is getting a night of sleep. Please remember that tardy students will be held in the lobby until a break in testing to minimize interruptions. Secondly, we ask that appointments, etc., which pull students out of class not be scheduled during testing. Thanks.
• Grades 1-4 Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, April 26, 1:00 pm in
