This week has been much more settled compared with last week’s computer server hiccup and the loss of phone

contact with the outside world. Now we just need a bit more sun and less mud.

Kids For Kids:

In our rush to get things organised last week I overlooked getting permission slips to allow us to take your child

over the hill to the Kids for Kids Concert on the 15 August. These have been sent out on Tuesday of this week

and we would appreciate them back by this Friday the 5th Aug with any further offers of transport gratefully

accepted.

arrived home with a different ‘top’ we have someone who’d love it back please.

COL Community Of Learning:

Currently, with encouragement from the Ministry of Education, schools in areas such as Golden Bay are

developing co-operative interactive groups across all schools both Primary and Secondary. Of course Motupipi

school will be involved and to bring our staff up to date with developments and future plans we will be

attending Hui with the other teachers on Tuesday 30th August during the afternoon that day. For Motupipi this

will be a Teacher Only half-day with buses operating for home from 12:00 noon for the whole bay. Please mark

this on your calendar.

We welcome five new pupils to Motupipi School this term – here they are:

Lucas W Rm 5: At Motupipi School Lucas likes the three break times instead of the two at his old school. He also likes

that at Motupipi you are allowed inside to work at break times, which is fun.

Logan Watt Rm 1: At Motupipi school Logan has found it really easy to make new friends.

Max Stanton Rm 3: At Motupipi School Max has lots of fun in the sandpit making deep wells with water in them.

Toby Stanton Rm 2: At Motupipi School Toby loves to hear and see the lovely birds flying around the school, especially

the big wood pigeon.

Miniball Results

It was great to see our teams settling down so quickly for our first miniball games. I can see we need to sharpen up our goal shooting skills! Results: Yr 3/4 Motupipi Breakers won against TPS Flash Team Motupipi Thunderbolts BYE Yr 5/6 Motupipi Tall Blacks won against TPS Fantastic 8’s Motupipi Golden State Warriors won against TPS Unknown Champions

As we have large numbers in each Yr 3/4 team and a few more Yr 3/4 players not in a team, but available to play, we plan to create a third Yr 3/4 Motupipi Team for next week 9 Aug. So if there are any more Yr 3/4 children who want to play miniball please let Nick or Jane know by tomorrow Friday, 5th August.
