Week 3 of Guided Home Learning
Art Department
Year 9 were given a brief to research a variety of pavilions and draw either a garden or park from
life, but from a secondary source. Over the coming weeks, they will design their own pavilion in
the outdoor space they have drawn! Here is one example from Jemima.
Izzy in Year 8 has been working on her
art portfolio – it’s looking really
wonderful, the detail of the tiger’s eye is
incredible
Vanessa in Year 13 has been working on
a lovely oil painting in her garden – it’s
shaping up beautifully.

Jessica in Year 10 had two wonderful ideas for her 3D
Design class.
Anna in Year 10 has been
practising for her 5-hour
GCSE mock exam.
And art isn’t just for the art
students – Sneha in Year 13
produced this wonderful
artwork of part of an eye, although she’s not an
A-level art student.
Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy
Year 7 looked at Rights and Responsibilities last term and one of their
lessons involved investigating the work of Amnesty International. Pupils
chose a case that Amnesty were highlighting and wrote letters to MPs,
charities, and even foreign governments asking for action and showing
support.
We have had our first reply. It was from the MP for East Surrey, Claire Coutinho. Well done,
Uma!

Science
Year 11 have been creating models of DNA using household items. They got really creative –
twigs, condiments, folders, pasta, highlighters, phone cables… All were put to use to create some
truly fantastic models.
