CONDOLENCES

Our heartfelt condolences go to Kathy Simpson, whose

daughter passed away this morning. Our thoughts are with

Tee Positions There is always talk at this time of year about putting the tees forward in winter to compensate for the lack of ball

roll. From our perspective the reason that we move blocks on

the tees is to spread the wear from golfers. This is why it is ideal to have large tees on par 3’s as they tend to get

chewed up worse. In winter the problem of wear on tees is worse as there is no growth to heal the scarring. This is the main reason why it is impractical to use only half the

teeing surface. The system we use when moving the tee markers is to

move them back from the position they are 500mm or so until you are past the worn area, once you reach the back

of the tee then they get moved to the front where it has hopefully healed.

We have moved the positions of the concrete distance marker on the tee blocks to the middle of the tees so that on average the course will be playing to the length on the card. (Before we moved the blocks on average with the tee distance blocks being nearer to the back the course

was on average playing shorter than the card). It should also be noted that in Summer the ground is hard and you enjoy good roll, in Winter the ground is soft and

you don't get the good roll. Funnily enough, we never get asked in Summer to put the

tees further back. Cheers, Andy

Trump’s Parade

An assistant to Donald Trump told him she had a fantastic dream last night. There was a huge parade down Pennsylvania

Avenue celebrating Trump.

Millions lined the parade route, cheering when the President when past. Bands were playing; children were throwing confetti into the air; there were balloons everywhere.

It was absolutely the BIGGEST CELEBRATION WASHINGTON HAD EVER SEEN!!!

Trump was very impressed and said, “That’s really great! By the way, how did I look in your dream? Was my hair okay?”

His assistant said’ ……… “I couldn’t tell—the casket was closed.”
