WE Day and WE Volunteer Speakers: 45 Rainier students were able to attend WE Day this year at the Tacoma Dome April 18. Students were chosen according to the amount of service hours they turned in. These amazing kids had the privledge of listening to many motivational speakers, singing by some stars they know, dancing and much more. Rainier was also lucky enough to be chosen to have WE Volunteer speakers visit our school. They began our day by speaking to the whole school. This was followed by a three hour workshop that 30 students attended to help them identify a service project they would like to focus on. Attention Students & Guardians: The time is coming to think about next year’s ASB Officers elections. We will be electing a President, Secretary, Treasurer (only for 8 th graders next year) and 4 each of 7 th and 8 th grade senators (next year’s grade). The best candidates are people who are responsible, positive, interested in planning activities for all students, able to attend weekly meetings and who want to help make Rainier the best school ever. Students running for office must have a “2” or above in all classes. They must be able to attend before and after school meetings. Teacher recommendations and administration approval will be done after a candidate qualifies by submitting a petition (25 signatures) and have their grades and behavior verified by Administration. Stay tuned for dates and details.
