Fellow Rotarians,
Happy to report that we will have a good turnout for the year end Banquet for June 16th.
Thanks for everyone responding early. I am putting together a list of accomplishments
of the Club this year. Am happy to have any input you wish to provide. We need contact
information for any past presidents spouses who typically attend as our guest. Barbara
Bochiardy has been helping with this but we think we do not have a complete list. Please
help if you can with names and contact information. Do not assume someone else has
already provided the information.
Rotary Club of Celebrantion has invited our members to join them June 12 at 7:00am as they are hosting RI
President Gary Huang. They have room for 50 guest so signing up early is important. Registration closes
June 11th
. Go to the District web page and under the District Calendar you can register.

The year is winding down but plans for next year are in full swing. Judy and George and Jim are busy with
planning “Lobster Golf in September”. I am certain that is not the name of either event but it does conjures
up some unique images never seen in Florida. Please say yes when they ask for your participation. In Rotary Service - Stephen

Response to Questions
1. What is Rotary anyway?
Windermere Member Response: “Rotary is a club that serves the local community; where the members share their lives and fellowship; that provides a venue for having fun.”
Rotary International: “Rotary brings together people who step forward — leaders who
take on important issues for local communities everywhere.”
“Rotary is made up of people around the world working together to clean the environment, end
polio, improve our communities, and accomplish many extraordinary things every single day.”
“Rotary connects business and community leaders who discover and celebrate diverse perspectives
to create positive change in our communities.”
2. What do we in Windermere want to accomplish?
Windermere Member Response: “Serve the needs of Windermere (that need money and
labor). We can’t do everything but we can concentrate on a few needs and do them well!”
3. Are we having fun?
Windermere Member Response: “Yes, but I miss some of the things we have done in the
past like the mystery trip and picnics.”
4. Do we appreciate our volunteer service enough?
Windermere Member Response: “I do but I believe we need to toot our horn more!
Win Pendleton [the old guy that pushed the creation of this club] did this with his
personality. I would hope we could do a better job of this.”
