Good Work Certificates

Teddy has had his first class session this week with a Year 2

class. Both Teddy and the children were amazing and very well-behaved. The children sat in a circle and Teddy came to

meet each one, then sat quietly whilst Mrs Hillyard talked to the class. It was lovely to see how the children spoke to Teddy and

were delighted to stroke him.

If you have not yet given consent for your child to meet

7th Feb Parent Workshops

Updated details & times

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Reading for Enjoyment Workshops

9.00am to 10.00am

Reception, Yr1 & Yr2 class-based workshops, with opportunities for parents to join in with some fun reading activities, learning some of the skills children need to help them develop their comprehension and understanding when reading.

Please feel free to bring along a favourite book from home to share in class.

Reception and New to School Parents Meeting

10.00am to 10.30am (new time)

Afterwards, we are holding a Parent Meeting in the hall to introduce our reading scheme. It would be great to see as many of our parents/carers as possible to help you support your child at home, so please stay for just an extra 30 minutes!

E-Safety Parent Workshop

Thanks to Geoff, Abigail & Joe from Warwickshire County Council for coming into school today to make a presentation to parents and carers about Internet Safety.

It was an informative, interactive session, with lots of questions and answers at the end.

Parents and carers then went into their child’s class to do some follow-up activities.

It was great that so many people made the time to attend and find out more about keeping children safe on-line.

Road Safety Workshop

Our Year 1’s and Year 2’s had a visit from the Warwickshire Road Safety Team this

week. The children took part in a workshop and came up with their own rules for road safety. They had lots of fun putting their

rules in practice too! Check out the photos on our website (photo gallery) and on our

Schudio App (Blog section).

SAT’s Books - Yr 2

All Yr2 children have received a letter, with details of how to order.

Everyone who purchased the bundle last year found the books very helpful

in preparation for their child’s SAT’s.

The closing date for the return of forms is Friday 7th February.

Please note our new Parents’ Evening dates for the Spring term. They are:-

Monday 10th February 4.30-6.30

And

Thursday 13th February 3.30-5.30.

Letters have been sent out - please book your appointment as soon as possible.

Pre-School Parents’ Evenings will be during the week beginning 24th February, staff will

arrange appointments over the next few weeks.

We are doing our bit for the environment, and trying to reduce the amount of letters and

flyers that we send home with the children. After the Easter Holiday in April 2020 we shall be posting all our flyers and reminders on our

Schudio App only.

Please make sure you have the App on your phone or tablet to keep upto date.

Instructions on how to install the App are included at the back of the Newsletter.

Yr 2 Exotic Animal Visit

We have arranged a Rainforest Experience for our Year 2 children with a visit from ‘Critterish Allsorts’. This will take place on the afternoon of Monday 10th February in school.

There will be a presentation from Dale who has experience of visiting the Rainforest in COSTA RICA! He will be bringing a selection of animals that can be found in the Rainforest for the children to observe and handle. The cost of this visit is £3.20 per child. Please return your consent form and payment by Friday 7th February.

We are excited to announce that the children will have a visit from Olympic

Gymnast Kristian Thomas on Friday 7th February.

He will lead a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils and follow-up with an

inspiring talk and Question and Answer session.

A letter has been sent home with further details about a Sponsored Event to raise money to improve physical

activity for the school while also supporting GB athletes and Paralympic Athletes.

Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school on the day!
