Graduate Recognition Sunday is June 15th. We would like to have photos of all graduates (high school, college, grad school, etc.) throughout the student’s life. We will be making a slide show of all our grads, so please limit the number of photos to five. Copies of photos can be given to Joan Schell or e-mail them to her at [email protected]. All graduates will be recognized in worship that Sunday and given a chance to share about their future plans.
The children will be exploring the Fruit of the Spirit this summer beginning on Sunday, June 1st, during the 9:00am Heartbeat Worship Service. Our ‘regular’ teachers are on sum-mer break so we are looking for other adults and youth helpers to step in and help us lead the children. Contact Joan Schell or Trish Fry if you can lead one or two Sundays in June or August. All materials, ideas and support are provided.
Children’s Wild Night at the Zoo Sleepover: Kids ages 7-12, come and join us at 6:00 p.m. on July 11th until 9:00 a.m. July 12th to see what happens at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo when the sun sets. We will take a night hike through the zoo, sleep in the Aquarium building, enjoy pizza dinner, snacks, crafts, activities, a movie, breakfast and more! Registration is open through June 8th. Registration forms are available online at aldersgatecommunity.com or at the New Generations’ Ministry office. Cost is $30.00. If you have questions, please contact Joan Schell at [email protected]; Trish Fry at [email protected] or call the church office.
Are your Children registered for Mission Camp 2014? August 2nd and 3rd, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m Our mission camp theme will be...“Welcoming Persons with Disabilities into Our Lives”. Scripture, Bible lessons, snacks, crafts, activities, mission projects and games are all included...we plan to have lots of FUN! Adult and Youth volunteers will be needed. Contact Joan Schell at [email protected]; Trish Fry at [email protected]; or call the church to register, sign up to help or for more information. Paint color suggestions for the Sanctuary have been received from Aldersgate members, inte-rior designers, painters, as well as websites for church interior design and colors. Most proposed warm colors that worked with the stained glass window and the carpet. Please take time to look at all the suggested themes in the MarketPlace and write your preferred number on a slip of paper and drop it in the Paint Can. If you want to make a comment please include that also. This will help us come up with an approach to make our Sanctuary a warm and inviting place that all will feel welcome in. Vocalists and instrumentalists are needed for the Genesis Service. There are openings for both youth and adults, singers, guitar players, drummers, brass, wind strings and more. Regular re-hearsals are on Wednesdays between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Music Room. For more information contact Chuck Scott at 260-418-6845 or e-mail [email protected]. Me-’N-U on Thursday, May 15, 2014, lovingly served 180 meals to 111 deserving people Aldersgate is now a sponsor of the Energizing Indiana program. If you sign up and have a home energy audit (at which time you also receive free CFL energy-saving lamps), Aldersgate will receive $25. There is no commitment on your part! Program information available at the information kiosk or church office. Contact David Carter ([email protected] or 432-1524) for further details.

Prelude “My Country, ’Tis of Thee” arr. Robert Hughes Call to Worship What could be more important than worshiping God?
As we gather together to praise, we leave our worldly cares behind.
We turn off our computers; We leave unfinished chores; We get off the highway; And turn our attention to a power more lasting, a peace more
satisfying. God, who creates earth in beauty, open our eyes to the wonders
you have made. Christ, who loves with a power greater than our
imagining, open our hearts to your great passion. Spirit, whose peace passes all understanding, open our lives to your peace. Filled
with divine gifts, we ask that our worship be worthy of our God’s glory. Amen.

Eternal Spirit, you flow through the ages from the pages of Scripture, transforming hearts with your challenge, moving those
who hear to new acts of faith, courage and mission. Bless our hearts and minds in the reading of the Word, so that we might
know your presence and power more fully. We pray in the name of the Living Word. Amen.
