CREATE YOUR NAMES LIST
The beginning of your business will be filled with
Effective Sampling, which is why you want to have
a lot of people you can sample.
Try to get your names list to at least 45 people,
100 is even better. If you struggle to think of
names, look through your phone, think about
your work place, your church, interactions with
other parents, and people who write about
health/money/time issues on your social media
feeds.

• This will be one of your greatest assets in dōTERRA.
A good names list is where you always begin when starting your business or creating new momentum.

• Write as many names as you can think of. Remember you’ll be adding to this list as long as you’re building dōTERRA.

There are effective ways to sample, and there are ways that just waste your time and money.
Follow this method exactly (DO NOT TWEAK ANYTHING), and you can anticipate 80%
attendance at your classes, higher enrollments, and more people signing up with LRP! You will also find builders quicker. • The samples we give are always free.
• Sample only ONE health challenge.
• Choose health needs with acute symptoms and things they’ll see quick results with.
• Sample only ONE oil at a time (it’s actually a good thing when you need to go back and
deliver more samples).
• Set proper expectations for the experience.
• Give 10–20 drops of an essential oil so that it will be enough for a few applications.
• Try to choose an oil from kits

Deliver the Sample and Set Expectations
Deliver the sample in person or send it in the
mail (you may include a couple samples for one
ailment if you are mailing them; just tell them to
only use one at a time).
What you need:
• A sample of the essential oil
you feel will be most effective.
• A quick reference essential
oil book to give them for free
(A–Z guide).
Set Expectations “Essential oils are similar to
medication in this way. When
you have an ailment and you
go to the doctor and receive a
prescription and if you use it
and it doesn’t work, you
usually don’t think to yourself
‘I’m never going to try
medication again because it’s
all useless.’ What you think is
‘That medication didn’t work
well on my body so I need to
go back to the doctor and ask
him for something different.
We have been programmed
this way—we understand that
medications affect people
differently. Essential oils are
similar in the fact that each oil
is not going to have the exact same effect on every
single person. So if you use an
oil and don’t get the results
you’re looking for, that’s okay,
we can try something else. If
you’re patient enough with
essential oils like you are with
medication, we will find
something that is safer,
cheaper and more effective for
you.”
Tell Them How to Use It and What to Look For:
“Here’s what we’re going to
do: When you’re getting into
bed tonight, rub a few drops of
this Lavender oil onto your
temples. (Teach them how to
use the vials) Also graze your
pillow with your fingertips. As
you lay down and take slow,
deep breaths, you’ll feel a
wonderful calm come over
you. You should feel more
relaxed, and you should sleep
better. But remember, if you don’t get
the results that you’re hoping
for we can try something else.
I’ll call you in two days to see
how it goes. Around when is
the best time to call?” Give them an essential oil quick
reference guide and explain how
to use it.
Put follow-up call in your calendar.

Give them a call two days after delivering the
sample. This MUST be a PHONE CALL!
Email or text is not effective for this step. “Hi! Have you had an
opportunity to use the
(sampled oil) yet?”

If NO: “That’s okay! Here’s
what we’re going to do: When
you get home tonight and start
getting ready for bed, [repeat
the usage instructions]. I think
you’re going to have a great
experience but if you don’t get
the results your looking for
don’t worry. I can bring you
another oil. If you’re as patient
with essential oils as you are
with medication, we’ll find
something that is safer, more
effective, and affordable for
you. I’ll give you a call in the
morning to see how it goes.”

Inviting Without Sampling There are two ways to approach inviting someone to a class, webinar or 1-1 to learn about oils. You can give someone a sample, follow up, and wait for them to have a good experience before you invite them to a class (you’ll learn this style next) OR, you can simply invite them to a class without sampling.
Occasionally when you first begin this business you have relationships and established trust with some of your friends and family. In some instances, you can often skip giving a sample with people that already know, like and trust you. This type of inviting will probably be the exception more than the rule. Here is a script for inviting people to learn more without sampling. How to Book a Class Who to ask to host for you: Friends, family, co-workers, hair stylist, neighbors, ANYONE can host! “Hi it’s _________, did I catch you at a bad time? I know I’m totally calling out of the blue. I’m calling to get your thoughts on something. I am starting my own business teaching about essential oils, and as part of my learning process and getting started in general, I’m trying to set up my first events. I’m looking for friends to have 4-6 people over so I can practice, I have free gifts for you, too. You and your friends don’t have to buy anything, but if you see something you like I would love to help you get it. I am going to go over the most popular essential oils and let everyone try them as I show you how to use them. My part will take about 40 minutes. Would you be willing to help me out?” “Great, I’m trying to book classes in the next two weeks. We can do _______ or _______. Which works better for your schedule? That was easy, thank you so much, so how the heck are you?” Next Steps After they choose the date that works for them you can help by creating an invite (Facebook events, evite, etc.) and give them an example of what to say when they’re inviting to their class: “Hi! Soooo.... funny story, I just got some essential oils. I got them because _______. My friend who sells them is coming over because I have a few people that also want to learn about them, and I don’t really know enough yet. She is really nice and you will learn a lot. We have it set up for _______. Do you already have plans for that day/night? Her part will take about 40 minutes and then I’ll have some snacks and drinks.”
Option A Hi it’s ________(your name), did I catch you at a bad time? I know I’m totally calling out of the blue but I’ve fallen in love with essential oils and I thought of you (insert a personal reason you know they’d love oils- “because I know you are always dealing with migraines”) and I’d love to share more with you about how oils can help. Usually what I do is set up a time to go over your health goals, the company and the most popular essential oils and kits. My part will take about 45 minutes. You don’t have to buy anything, but if you see something you like, of course I’ll help you get it right away. Is that something you would be open to?” “Great!” “We can do _______ or ________ (date and times of classes you have setup or open times you could do a 1-1). Which works better for your schedule?” If they say that neither of the 2 times work for, you say, “Ok, is it the time or the day that doesn’t work for you?” Then you can suggest 2 more times/days and pick from there. “Great! We can do _________ or __________ (date and times). Which works better for your schedule?”
Option B Essential oils come up in random conversations all the time, so what do we do then? It’s easy, use the “usually script” below to transition the conversation, instead of overwhelming them with a bunch of information when they aren’t prepared for the conversation. “Usually what I do is set up a time to go over your health goals, the company and the most popular essential oils and kits. My part will take about 45 minutes. You don’t have to buy anything, but if you see something you like, of course I’ll help you get it right away. Is that something you would be open to? We can do _________ or __________ (date and times). Which works better for your schedule?”

LISTEN TO DAILY MENTOR CALL #13 How do I effectively invite to a class? When they’ve had an AWESOME experience: • Now is when you invite them
to your class! • “If you think (essential oil) is
awesome, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! It’s incredible how many things you can solve with essential oils.” (Share one or two powerful experiences that you or your family have had with essential oils) “Here’s what we’re going to do: There is an amazing Intro to Oils class on __________ and another class on _________. I think what you will learn could change your life. I would love for you to come. Which of those times works better for you?”
• Set the date and time and let them know you’ll give them a call with more details two days before the class.
LISTEN TO DAILY MENTOR CALL #14 Two-day phone call reminder / two-hour text reminder Always do the two-day phone call reminder and the two-hour text reminder. These drastically increase your attendance rates if you do them as you’ve learned! Do not change or tweak the reminders. They are proven to be the most effective way to help your prospects get out the door and to your class. • CALL them two days before the
appointment and give them some more info about the class. Do not ask them if they are still planning on coming, assume that they are: “Hi, I’m excited to see you! In the class this Thursday we will be talking more about essential oils and anxiety. I think it will really help your daughter. There will be plenty of parking on the street, so just find the closest spot.”
• TEXT them two hours before the appointment, THIS MUST BE A TEXT:
• “I’m excited to see you tonight. I have a surprise for you.”
• “Can’t wait for you to come today. I’ve got a gift for you.”
If they text you back and ask what the surprise is simply respond with this text: • “Come and you’ll find out, it’s a
surprise.” Note that you can have any small surprise waiting at the appointment or class. It can be as simple as a sample of Lemon oil or On Guard®-soaked apple slices. The “surprise” piques curiosity and increases attendance.

EFFECTIVE SAMPLING
Effective sampling gives a prospect the
experience they need to justify enrolling
and using dōTERRA in their life.
This sampling method is all about touches and exposure.
Every touch increases trust and adds to their experience with
dōTERRA. When someone has been sampled well, they come
to a class not to learn about oils, but to decide what they want
to get.
Preface each sample with this: “Trying natural products is similar to trying traditional
remedies. If something doesn’t work, you don’t decide to stay stuck; you try something else until you find what works.
And when we’ve found what works for you, we’ll have found a
safer, natural, cost-effective way to help with your. . . .”

the basis of all education in your
business. No matter what specialty
topics you want to teach in an
advanced or continuing education
class, the Intro to Oils presentation
is always the foundation.
Here you’ll learn the components
of a successful Intro to Oils class.
You can apply these components
however you prefer to teach.
You’ll also have the opportunity to
learn a specific way to teach an
Intro to Oils presentation. This is
no ordinary intro class! This is the class that has been most
successfully duplicated and has
the highest enrollment rate! It is

How to Introduce Yourself & the Presenter: Welcome everyone. Share a personal oil testimony using the before & after outline. EXAMPLE: Before I was using dōTERRA products I was having a hard time sleeping. I would wake up several times in the night and not be able to get back to sleep. Now I use lavender each night and I sleep 6-7 hours straight, wake up with more energy, and feel so much better. Share why you wanted to have the class. I invited you all to learn more today because _____ (I truly think each of you can benefit from these oils and I’m excited for you to learn more) Introduce the presenter. This is my friend _________. I asked her to come share with you today because ___________ (She has been using oils for 3 years, and has an autoimmune disorder that she has completely managed with oils and now feels great, plus she knows a ton about oils!)

How to Help Close Sales After the Class:
When the class ends you will help each person figure out what they want to order. Kneel next to them (don’t hover over them!) and ask, “What are the 3 things we are working on?” Review their health challenges and help them write down the products they need according to what you find in the book. Be sure to include the common oils for each ailment. Suggest the kit that best fits their needs. “According to your ailments I would recommend _______ kit or _______ kit. The _______ kit has _______ for your _______ (specific ailments). Or the _______ kit has _______ for your _______ (specific ailments). (Healthy Habits kit has lifelong vitality for energy, and frankincense for your headaches, and is the best value for your money!). Based on your list of needs, which kit appeals to you most? Great! So I’m going to let you work on filling out this order form (show them where to write their information and where to select their kit) while I help a few other people. Then I’ll come back and check on you.”
Assume the sale. Recommend a set of solutions with confidence. They have come well prepared and wanting to buy. Don’t oversell or push bigger kits without cause; recommend what you truly feel they need. **When you go back to each individual and forms are filled out** “Looks great. One last thing, because you have decided to invest in your health I want to invest in you. This is what I’m going to do. Your oils will arrive to your house in about a week. I will come to your house and help you get started. I know that you’re excited tonight and you’ve learned a lot but you’re going to forget a lot. ;) You’ll know exactly what to use and how to use it. I will answer any questions that come up from now until I meet with you. . I want to make sure you are getting the most out of your products that you are purchasing tonight. The overview will take about 45 minutes. I have time ____ (day of the week) or _____ (day of the week), which is best for you.”

How to Book New Classes: After you help each person decide on their order, quickly look through the drawing forms. Anyone with a yes or maybe for hosting a class ask them: “I’m so excited you have an interest in hosting a class, we are going to have so much fun! Here’s your keychain, are you thinking you’d like a weeknight or a weekend party?” Give them a choice of two dates, set the time and location. Tell them you’ll email them further info.

1. Health Challenges and Natural

(you don’t want to overwhelm
them!).

Setup Their LRP “Ok so let’s go ahead and walk you through the process of setting up your LRP so you’ll know how to work the loyalty program, nothing is set in stone here so you can change anything I show you. The first thing we’ll do is pick a date, and remember even though it’s a monthly autoship there is no obligation and no order minimums, you can change all the items- order as little or as much as you want, or you can cancel it at any time. In a minute I’ll show you how you can change everything so you feel comfortable and can order the way you want, when you want. How does that sound? Add the products from the month one LRP plan. “Ok great, how does that look? Talk about their class at the
Wellness Consult, not at the
Essential Oils Intro class
because it’s too overwhelming.
It is best to sample the hostess’
guests but not necessarily required
if they seem too overwhelmed by
getting you everyone’s information.
Script to use at the Wellness
Consult:
“We have a class date set for [a
specific time] and I would like to
make that class just as
successful as the class that you
attended.
I would like to have all of your
friends that come to the class
have a powerful experience with
the oils before the class just like
you did. I am going to write
down for you all of the things
that I did to make sure that you
had a good experience. When
we prepare in this way the
experience at the class can be
life changing.”

How to Enter an Order/Enrollment
1. Start by logging in at doterra.com and then hover your curser over account on the top right-
hand side of window. Then click “Enroll New Member”.
2. Next, Select the kit your customer wants to order. If they are not purchasing a kit and want to
pay the $35 membership and add items on, you can select the “Individual Products” button.
The membership fee will automatically be added in the cart.

3. After you have selected the kit you will be prompted to add additional products or review the
cart for checkout.
4. When you review the order, you will be taken to the Shopping Bag where you can add
additional items, add a promotion code such as a Diamond Club code or click Proceed to
Checkout to continue checkout process.

the Referral Information section, and accept the terms at the bottom.

Preparing Your Host
The most important part of having a successful class is preparing your host. Make sure you set clear expectations with specified deadlines. You need to have a follow-up call to check in if you don’t receive the guest list by the specified date. In order to prepare your host, it is best to meet in person (at the membership overview is a perfect time) to go over the host checklist and duties. During your planning meeting explain that they have 2 options for their class:
1. Earn a great hostess gift
a. Explain gifts based on your preference
2. Earn commissions with dōTERRA
a. If interested in earning commissions, setup a business overview before their class date
and make sure the business is a good fit.
Make sure you ask your host if they’d like a Facebook event, evite etc. Make a note in your planner to check in 10 days before the event to see how inviting is going. If nobody has been invited remind the host HOW to invite and your event can still be pulled off with 10 days to go!

I suggest you send texts/fb messages personally inviting people before you add them to the event. The more you can tell them WHY they should come the better (share something you’re loving, something that may help them, why you think the party is so great, etc.). ONLINE CLASS INFO- 1. You and your guests can register for the webinar at www.theoilkings.com/livewebinar
2. Have your guests go to www.zoom.us and download the free software to their computer
(phone works but is much harder to see) before the webinar begins
3. Print the class handout and send with a few samples (Deep Blue Rub, Adaptiv, Peppermint)
AND a class handout ahead of time, if you run out of time send the link for your guest to
print at home (handout link: at www.theoilkings.com/handout).
4. The day of the webinar text your guests a reminder: "Hey Sarah, can't wait to see you on the
webinar at 8pm tonight, text me if you have any issues getting on. Also- I’ll plan to call you
right after it ends to help show you a personalized plan. (Can choose a follow-up time here
