W ould you like to know, 100% without a doubt, God is hearing your prayers? How awesome
would it be to have the confidence, that God heard you and He is going to answer you? The
Apostle John says we can have that.
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will,
He hears us. 15
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions
that we have asked of Him…
1 John 5:14-15
When we pray, we can have complete confidence that God hears us. The key is found in these
specific words: “…if we ask anything according to His will…” Do you grasp the meaning behind these
words? It is all about God’s will. Can you say that you want God’s will in your life? What if God’s will
in your life is for you to:
- Go overseas as a missionary
- Teach a Sunday School class
- Quit your $100,000.00 a year job and take a $40,000.00 a year job
- Tell your best friend they are going to hell without Christ in their life
- Stand up before the church and share a testimony
- Have friends over for the purpose of talking about scripture
I could go on and on with the list, but the point remains the same: Do you really want God’s will
in your life? Are you willing to trust God with the answer to what ever you are praying for? George
Mueller said this, “The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end
of anxiety.” How often does your praying revolve around anxious thoughts or fears? Do you want
God’s will in whatever it is you are dealing with, or do you want your will? Faith trusts God when a
matter is put in His hands.
To pray in God’s will is to take anything in your life and lay it before God and ask God to show
you what He wants for you in the matter. Just be sure you are willing to accept and be obedient to
what God shows you. God hears the prayers prayed in His will. Are you praying in His will?

Alan’s Notes Stefan’s Thoughts Hello All! I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy both physically and spiritually. If you have struggled to engage in the Word of God through this time of social distancing, I want you to be encouraged and know that we are here to help you! There are several ways we can help you connect, reading plans, devotional plans, connecting you to a small group who study the Word together, online resources on our website, and our online services which many of you have already engaged in. More than anything I would like to encourage you to read, study, and discuss the Word of God together as a family. If you need help in this area, please do not hesitate to call our offices so we can help point you to these great resources.
I have an announcement that breaks my heart to share with you this week. I was informed Monday, that Falls Creek has been cancelled for 2020. This decision was a very difficult one for our Oklahoma Baptist leadership to make and I know that it pains them to have to make this decision, however, I want to encourage you to rejoice in the Lord even when things do not happen as planned (Philippians 4:4).
On a positive note, we will be meeting together on site as a church family! Stay tuned to our social media outlets for details concerning Sunday and Wednesday night youth meetings! Also, our Youth Garage Sale will be happening Saturday, June 6 th at the FBC bus barn from 8am to 2pm. Contact Stefan if you can help with pickup and setup of items.
SUPER SUMMER SUPER SUNDAYS! What are Super Sundays you ask? Take a normal Sunday, and add some Super Summer to it, making what ’s called a Super Sunday, now multiply that by four and you have Super Sundays! These will begin at 6pm each Sunday night in June and is totally free! For more news and updates visit our student page at www.fbcsayrestudents.org or follow our social media outlets at @fbcsayrestudents on Instagram and @fbcsayreyouth on Twitter. Parents join our parent page on Facebook by clicking Here. Much love to you church!
Looking forward to a great week!
Brother Stefan
I don’t know about you, but
lately I have heard the
word “unprecedented”
bandied about with great
regularity. Truthfully, most
events and trends have
precedents; there is little
truly new under the sun. Unprecedented should therefore
be an uncommon word. The fact that it is used so regularly
suggests that people are employing it more freely than the
dictionary would allow. Consequently, it currently tends to
mean simply “this event is extraordinary and worth paying
attention to,” not “this event has no historical parallels.”
That said, most of us have had very little
experience in “restarting” a church after our regular
activities have been brought to a dead stop like we will be
doing starting on Sunday May 24th. Will people come
back? What will it look like? Is it safe? These are all valid
questions in this context. As believers, we have an
advantage over the world as we “restart” our participation
in church activities. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “Trust in
the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own
understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He
shall direct your paths.” The advantage that we have
comes from the same place our confidence is founded—
the unfailing promises of God! As believers, this promise
is valid for EVERYTHING we are connected to! We do not
have to live in fear, but in trust and confidence in the only
one who never fails. See You Sunday!!
Trusting in His Promises,
Brother Alan
