ATTENDANCE Mandatory
Yearlong classes, No more than 10 absences
Semester classes, No more than 5
Parent or guardian must notify attendance (Mrs. Porter) of absences
Student must provide written notice from parent or doctor within 3
days of absence
Absences with no documentation are considered unlawful.
Three (3) consecutive absences or five (5) unlawful absences could result in a Pre-Court
Intervention Conference (PCIC)
TARDIES Late morning arrival, tardy pass
Late to class, tardy pass
Cumulative Tardies
1st – 2nd, verbal warning
3rd, contact parent or guardian
4th – 5th, school detention
6th – 9th, ISS
10th – 13th, OSS
CONDUCT Disorderly Conduct – disturbing the classroom or school environment
Tardiness, cheating, lying, abusive language, forged notes, cutting class, truancy
Could result in reprimand, detention, ISS, OSS, or withdrawal of privileges
Disruptive Conduct – actions directed against a persons or property
Use of tobacco, e-cigarettes, use or possession of alternative medicine
fighting, vandalism, threats, wearing inappropriate clothing, abusive
language to staff, possession of unlawful substances, etc.
Could result in alternative education program, ISS, OSS, expulsion, etc.
Criminal Conduct – violence to self or to another person or property.
Assault and battery, threats, extortion, possession of certain items, vandalism, distribution, using, selling or buying illegal items.
Could result in OSS, alternative schools, expulsion, etc.
IGP Conferences
Mandatory for all 8th grade – 12th grade students
Must be completed 1st semester for all 9th graders
Parent should phone to schedule conference

US History (11th graders)
PSAT/PACT – 10th graders
ACT/SAT – 11th graders
Ready to Work Assessment - 11th graders
Virtual School Free to all students
Three sessions each year
Student must create on line account
Require parent and guidance counselor
approval
Final grade is final grade on transcript

4 year College Admissions Requirements
2 to 3 years of the same foreign language
1 fine arts credit
3 lab sciences
Diploma of Distinction Awarded to graduating seniors with GPA 4.000 or higher
28 credits
SAT score 1100 or ACT 24 (both with writing)
English, Math, Science, and Social Studies - 4 units each
3 or more AP or Dual Enrollment courses
3 levels of the same foreign language
Verification of 50 hours of community service or 10th – 12th
grade school sponsored club with service activities
SCHOOL SAFETY
What the school will do: Student safety priority number one
Conduct one fire drill each month
Conduct lockdown drill once a quarter
Keep parents and students informed
Take appropriate action in every situation
What students can do: Follow school rules (for drills, etc.)
