A Little About MeI grew up in Hawaii. I’ve been teaching for 10 years. This is my 6th year at OCSI. I love God. I love helping people. Giving your child an awesome school experience is important to me. I love using my dogs, Moses and Chopsticks to tell funny stories to the children.

Kindergarten Family Sports Day

September 15, 2014 At Sera No Mori No school- Parents are encouraged to come with their child!

Sweet Potato DiggingOctober 27, 2014 At Murasaki Mura Students need a shovel and gloves!

Parent/Teacher Conference

October 24, 2014 Please bring your own translator if you need one.

WalkathonNovember 15, 2014 Students will raise donations for our school. At least 1 adult must walk with your child. Students/Parents/Staff will will to Zampa point and back!

OCSI Christmas ProgramDecember 5, 2014 Students dress up and perform. During the evening at Yomitan Hall. Come celebrate with us!

Kite DayJanuary 12, 2015 Parents are encouraged to come! You will need a kite!

Character ParadeJanuary 16, 2015 We will study characters. K-2nd grade will choose a character from a book. Come dressed up as your character! Parents are invited to take pictures!

OCSI BazaarFebruary 28, 2015 It’s our biggest event! Donate your gently used items. Food booths, games, and a huge yard sale! Lots of parent volunteers needed!

Student Led Conferences

March 6, 2015 Students will take charge! Students will create a portfolio. Students will be able to share their own progress with their parents.

Standardized Testing

April 27-29, 2015 Go to bed early Bring a healthy snack Encourage your children to try their best!

End of the Year Picnic

No school for Kindergarten May 15, 2015 All parents are welcome to come!

June 5, 2015 At Yomitan Hall Bunka Center All parents are welcome to come!

Daily Homework

Read for 10 minutes Worksheet(s) Memory Verse Practice Notebook No Homework on Fridays!

Reading FolderBorrow books from our classroom. Read! Read! Read! Sign the reading log Return the book and trade it for a different one. Read 100 books and get a special prize from Mrs. Gosin!

Home-School NotebookCommunication is important to me! Use this notebook to write a note for the teacher. I will sometimes write a note to you. I will check it everyday. Email: lynseygosin@ocsi.org

Class Discipline PolicyAll students start on GREEN everyday.

Move up or down according to your behavior.

1st warning- Verbal

2nd warning- Move your card down to YELLOW

3rd warning- Move your card down to RED. Time out for 5 min. Note home to parents.

Severe situations- Move your card down to ORANGE. Student will be sent to the Principal’s office. Note home to parents.

Awesome behavior (helping others, excellent listener, etc.)- Move your card up to BLUE, PURPLE, and PINK.

If you stay on GREEN, BLUE, and PURPLE all day, you will receive one stamp for your chart. PINK= 2 stamps! When you fill up your chart, you can get a PRIZE from the TREASURE BOX!!
