THEME: Mission In The Spirit Of Sacrifice And Love Today is World Mission Sunday. The church invites us to reflect on our personal response, to Christ’s mission. It is a special day to revitalize our faith, and to rededicate ourselves to Christ’s mission. In today’s gospel, through his dialogue with his disciples, Jesus opens our eyes to the realities that confront us in mission. By asking them: “Can you drink the cup that I must drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I must be baptized,” Jesus reminds us of the challenges ahead of us in His mission. The good news is that, we can overcome these challenges through the spirit of sacrifice and love. So, in the midst of all these challenges, we must find consolation in these words from the letter to the Hebrews: “Let us be confident, then in approaching the throne of grace, that we shall find mercy and grace when we are in need of help.” This grace is sufficient for us to accomplish God’s mission. Therefore, with the psalmist, let us pray: “Lord, let your love be upon us, as we place our trust in you.” God Bless You All and Have a Peaceful Sunday!

As Catholics, celebrating the liturgy of the Church is the way we give glory to God! Through the liturgy, Christ continues the work of our redemption in and through his Church. The liturgy is our way of participating publicly in the ongoing work of Christ – in worship, proclamation of the Gospel and active charity – to the glory of God! Through music in the liturgy: • Prayer is given a more graceful expression • The mystery of the liturgy is more openly shown • The unity of hearts is more profoundly achieved by the union of voices • Minds are more easily raised to heavenly things by the beauty of the liturgy • The whole celebration more clearly prefigures the heavenly liturgy Please welcome Marge Youngblood, her husband Joe, and their seven children! Marge is currently the music director at Our Lady of Mercy, serving in that role for the past six years. She has been a part of church music ministry for the past 26 years and is also a freelance singer, songwriter, and musician who seeks to share her love of the Lord through music as she is called to minister at different venues as she works to record an album. Since moving to Pinnacle, Marge and her family have made Good Shepherd their home. Marge has graciously offered her musical talent and her desire to serve Jesus Christ through music in service to Good Shepherd.
