Our Unique Science &Aerospace Curriculum

• Accelerated curriculum so students have the potential to take Honors Physics in Grade 8 – a high school course

• Science courses follow magnet themes and include authentic investigations, visiting scientists, and special projects/events

TransportationFor students who live outside walking distance of their assigned school, as designated by MCPS, and in the attendance areas of:

Argyle, Loiederman, and Parkland Yes - from neighborhood bus stops if they live beyond the MCPS designated walking distance

All other areas of Montgomery County No - parents provide transportation

Carpool Database Families share there address information in a database that is maintained by the Magnet Coordinator. The information is only shared with those within the database. Families make connections with one another.

TRAX – an afterschool enrichment provider is also available

To participate in the Choice process, Grade 5 parents/students will complete a Choice form:

• Rank the three middle schools in order of preference.

• On the form, indicate if you would like your child to attend the same MSMC school that an older sibling will attend in 2013 - 2014

• Return the complete Choice form by Friday, November 2, 2012.

•Forms available NOW on the Parkland website as well as the MCPS website.

Note: MSMC in-Consortium students who do not submit a Choice form will be randomly assigned to an MSMC school.
