‘Knowing’ to ‘shepherding’
Jesus presents himself as the shepherd with a difference. More than the arduous job of tending the sheep through tough and challenging pas-tures of life, it is the knowledge of his sheep to a greater and higher lev-el studded with deeper and personal concern for each of them, with a special attention to the strayed ones, that stands out in this ‘Good Shep-herd’.
Shepherding at various levels – as parents, teachers, mentors, friends, church and social leaders – is indeed a demanding task. Being after them does make us assertive leaders; but the radical call is to ‘be with them’ to mould their character and nurture their growth to maturity. It is not enough for the shepherds to sermonize and sing about the Shepherd; rather we must be intentional in knowing and emulating him.
Traditionally, the fourth Sunday of Easter is observed as the Vocation Sunday. While we constantly coerce the children to slog for ‘big jobs’ – doctors, engineers and lawyers, do we inquire about the quest for opting to serve the Church through religious life and encourage them to pursue in the vocation to become priests, nuns, lay apostles and church leaders?

"Saber" a "pastorear"
Jesús se presenta como el pastor con una diferencia. Más que el arduo trabajo de cuidar a las ovejas a través de pastos difíciles y desafiantes de la vida, es el conocimiento de sus ovejas a un nivel mayor y más eleva-do, lleno de una preocupación más profunda y personal por cada uno de ellos, con una atención especial a los extraviados, que se destaca en este 'Buen Pastor'.
Pastorear en varios niveles, como padres, maestros, mentores, amigos, líderes de la iglesia y sociales, es una tarea exigente. Estar detrás de ellos nos convierte en líderes asertivos; pero el llamado radical es "estar con ellos" para moldear su carácter y nutrir su crecimiento hasta la ma-durez. No es suficiente para los pastores sermonear y cantar sobre el Pastor; más bien debemos ser intencionales al conocerlo y emularlo.
Tradicionalmente, el cuarto domingo de Pascua se observa como el do-mingo de vocación. Si bien constantemente obligamos a los niños a bus-car 'grandes trabajos': médicos, ingenieros y abogados, preguntamos sobre la búsqueda de optar por servir a la Iglesia a través de la vida reli-giosa y alentarlos a seguir la vocación de convertirse en sacerdotes, monjas y laicos. apóstoles y líderes de la iglesia?

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
We continue to have Adoration of the Blessed Sacra-ment in the Church on Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm. At 3 pm, Father recites the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and Benediction. We also have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on
Saturdays from 3 to 8 pm.
Since we can’t attend Mass, consider attending Adoration. What a blessing to be able to visit with Jesus and keep him company for at least 1 hour.

Continuamos teniendo Adoración del Santísimo Sacramento en la Igle-sia los viernes de 9 am a 3 pm. A las 3 de la tarde, el Padre recita la Co-ronilla de la Divina Misericordia y Bendición. También tenemos Adora-ción del Santísimo Sacramento en
Sábados de 3 a 8 pm.
Como no podemos asistir a misa, considere asistir a Adoración. Qué bendición poder visitar a Jesús y hacerle compañía durante al menos 1 hora.
Baptisms
Given the situation we are in with the COVID-19, we are not offering Baptism Preparation Classes. However, if you have a child that needs to be baptized call the office and we can make arrangements for this sacrament.
We still need to follow the requirements for Baptism and COVID-19 distancing requirements. We will still only baptize on Sundays and we will let you know the date and time of the baptism.

Dada la situación en la que nos encontramos con el COVID-19, no es-tamos ofreciendo clases de preparación para el bautismo. Sin embargo, si tiene un hijo que necesita ser bautizado, llame a la oficina y podemos hacer los arreglos para este sacramento.

Maintenance Fund
We are still taking bottles and cans for recycling to benefit our Maintenance Fund. You can bring them Tuesday - Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. Come to the back door of the Admin Building and ring the doorbell and someone will open the door. We will hold on to them until our current situation is over and continue taking them in for deposit donations.
