The South African Body of Dance in conjunction with Sun International are looking
forward to hosting the “2020 Battle of the Giants All Styles Dance Festival”
DATE: 23 – 26 April 2020 VENUE: Superbowl,
Sun City
BATTLE OF THE GIANTS 2020 promises to be another pristine event with International Judges and special prizes to be won. These prizes will
include fabulous accommodation packages, teacher’s development sponsorship and air tickets.
Take advantage of the public holiday on Monday the 27th and book the
Sunday night for an extended weekend stay.

ADJUDICATING PANEL
A rotating panel of judges will adjudicate this event and will comprise of SABOD
judges, International judges and DSSA/SADTA adjudicators. Members of the panel will
be announced closer to the event

A proposed schedule will be sent out after the closing date of the BOTG. It is subject
to alteration, depending on the number of entries received.
The organiser reserves the right to combine or cancel sections, if and when
necessary.

ENTRY FEES The Entry Fee is R470.00 per dancer which includes the following:
Entrance to dance, irrespective of how many sections entered.
Dancers have free entrance into the Superbowl & Warriors Hall for the
full duration of the “Giants” festival.
Includes a commemorative T-shirt, a souvenir programme and free entry to the
“Finals” in the Superbowl.
Entry Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances. NO ENTRIES WILL BE PROCESSED WITHOUT PROOF OF PAYMENT
DANCE FLOORS The dance floor will be divided in two for certain sections where appropriate for that
section / heat. 20m wide x 26.2m long – Superbowl Performing Arts Stage Size - 11m wide x 9m long – Warriors Hall
EXHIBITORS Limited Space is available and on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested in

GAMING There are gaming facilities at the Sun Soho Hotel. Gambling for persons 18 years and
over. Sun International supports the National Responsible Gambling Program.

OFFICIAL COMPETITION VENUE Superbowl & Warriors Hall
PARKING Sun City Main Gate entrance fee: R75 per person, Children 2-12yrs - R65 per person,
(subject to change) 2yrs and younger – FREE
this includes transfer from the main parking lot to
Superbowl.
People who booked their spectator tickets through Computicket need not pay the
gate fee. Please produce your tickets at the gate.
RULES
Trainers need to be aware of the various rules pertaining to the different disciplines
that fall under the SABOD and SADTA associations. These rules are available on
request. The SABOD Rule Book is available online on www.sabod.co.za

SPECTATOR TICKETS Computicket sales open in March 2020. Spectators will be able to purchase entrance
tickets to the BOTG All Styles Dancesport Festival from any Computicket outlet, as well
as from the REGISTRATION VENUE FOR BOTG IN THE LUPATA ROOM – Located on upper
level on the right hand side of the Superbowl at Sun City.
Cost: R150 Adults, R75 for kids under 12 years & R120 for pensioners & MVG card
holders. This is for a full day irrespective of arrival times. Dancing is in two venues:
Superbowl and Warriors Hall, with unreserved seating. Sun City Central Security will
manage this process.

T-SHIRT ORDERS & SIZES Dancers all receive ONE commemorative T-Shirt as part of their entry fee.
T-shirts are to be ordered as follows:
Dancer ONLINE Entries. This t-shirt size must be entered online along with the entry
into the competition on www.sabod.co.za/sys
IMPORTANT : For Freestyle & Disco Dancer entries, the t-shirt size order must be
completed on the cover sheet on pages 17 - 19, and emailed to
[email protected] with the relevant entry forms.
Non-dancers (teachers, spectators, students, parents etc) who wish to order a
commemorative t-shirt and dancers who require extra commemorative t-shirts, may
do so by completing the attached non dancer t-shirt order form on page 8 and
emailing it to [email protected] with the proof of payment accompanying
the order form. For Freestyle & Disco Dancers who wish to order EXTRA t-shirts, please
DO NOT send these orders to Bev Ross. They need to be emailed directly to

The cost for the stand for 4 days is a new price of : R3300 from Thursday to Sunday
(23 to 26 April 2020).
Please book your own accommodation to attend this event. Set up should be by 8am
each day as the dancing starts at 9am daily, and ends late each night. The times that
you open and close your exhibit area is at your discretion.

Rules for entering this section: Please note that this section can only be entered with a group that CANNOT be
entered into any other section in the competition. i.e There is no section available in the competition where this type of genre will be able to dance.
The dancers can only dance against themselves once in the age groups. i.e. a dancer can only do modern & hip hop in a specific age group.
