Worship Hints for Families . . . "I've already answered that question!" I feel like I should have this playing on a loop

sometimes in my home. I'm sure my kids can see my frustration grow as I have to answer

the same question yet again. Ironically, I can only imagine God's reaction as we constantly

ask Him to show us how we should live out certain life situations. My guess is that He may be

thinking something like, "I've already answered that question!" God has given us the Scriptures,

which are our guide to living out a life rooted in Jesus. We truly already have all the answers we

need, but I think sometimes, much like our kids, it's a stall tactic or a lack of listening in the first

place. So, how do we live out our lives in Jesus? God's already answered that question!

Opening Praise “Blessed Be Your Name”

(Verse 1)

Blessed be Your name, In the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow,

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name, When I’m found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness,

Blessed be Your name

(Pre-Chorus)

Every blessing You pour out, I’ll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, Lord still I will say

(Chorus)

Blessed be the name of the Lord, Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the Lord, Blessed be Your glorious name

(Verse 2)

Blessed be Your name, When the sun's shining down on me

When the world's all as it should be,

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name, On the road marked with suffering

Though there's pain in the offering,

Blessed be Your name

(Pre-Chorus)

(Chorus) 2X

(Bridge) 2X

You give and take away, You give and take away

My heart will choose to say, Lord blessed be Your name

(Chorus)

“Mighty To Save”

(Verse 1)

Everyone needs compassion, Love that's never failing

Let mercy fall on me

Everyone needs forgiveness, The kindness of a Saviour

The hope of nations

(Chorus)

Saviour, He can move the mountains

My God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save

Forever, Author of salvation

He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave

(Verse 2)

So take me as You find me, All my fears and failures

Fill my life again

I give my life to follow, Everything I believe in

Now I surrender

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

Shine your light And, let the whole world see

We're singing for the glory, Of the risen King Jesus

Shine your light And, let the whole world see

We're singing for the glory, Of the risen King

(Chorus)

Confession of Sins Pastor: The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

People: He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

Pastor: He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

People: Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;

Pastor: but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

People: They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will

walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV)

Pastor: Let us now confess our sins

People: You are kind, God! Please have pity on me. You are always merciful! Please wipe

away my sins. Wash me clean from all of my sin and guilt. I know about my sins,

and I cannot forget my terrible guilt. You are really the one I have sinned against; I

have disobeyed you and have done wrong. So it is right and fair for you to correct

and punish me. I have sinned and done wrong since the day I was born. But you

want complete honesty, so teach me true wisdom. Wash me with hyssop until I am

clean and whiter than snow. (Psalm 51:1-7 CEV)

(We observe a few moments of quiet time as we personally bring before Jesus

our need for his forgiveness; examining our lives in light of God’s Word)

Assurance of Forgiveness

Pastor: Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits

on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging

the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or

father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as

much and will inherit eternal life (Matthew 19:28 NIV)…Therefore, I forgive you all your

sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

People: At the cross of Jesus, I surrender my life.

(Please be seated)

Song of Response “At the Cross (Love Ran Red)”

(Verse 1)

There's a place Where mercy reigns and never dies

There's a place Where streams of grace flow deep and wide

(Pre-Chorus)

Where all the love I've ever found

Comes like a flood comes flowing down

(Chorus)

At the cross at the cross I surrender my life

I'm in awe of You I'm in awe of You

Where Your love ran red and my sin washed white

I owe all to You I owe all to You

(Verse 2)

There's a place Where sin and shame are powerless

Where my heart Has peace with God and forgiveness

(Pre-Chorus)

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

Here my hope is found Here on holy ground

Here I bow down here I bow down

Here arms open wide Here You saved my life

Here I bow down here I bow

(Chorus)

I owe all to You

I owe all to You

The New Testament Lesson 2 Timothy 3:14-17

(A Final Charge to Timothy)

3 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because

you know those from whom you learned it, 15

and how from infancy you have known the Holy

Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16

All

Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in

righteousness,17

so that the servant of God[a]

may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Gospel Lesson John 3:1-17

(Jesus Teaches Nicodemus)

3 1 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling

council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has

come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born

again.[a]” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they

cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I

tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the

Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be

surprised at my saying, ‘You[c]must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You

hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone

born of the Spirit.”[d] 9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. 10 “You are Israel’s

teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak

of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our

testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you

believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who

came from heaven—the Son of Man.[e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so

the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f]15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in

him.”[g] 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever

believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the

world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Song “I Am Not the Same”

(Chorus)

I am not the same I'm a new creation

I am not the same anymore

I am not ashamed I will not be shaken

I am not the same anymore (anymore)

(Verse 1)

You restore the wasted years, You build the broken walls

Your love replaces fear Your mercy makes us whole

Adopted healed and lifted

(Chorus)

(Verse 2)

I bow before Your cross This broken life made new

Amazed at all You are And who I am in You

Adopted healed and lifted

Forgiven found and rescued

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

You have overcome It is finished it is done

Now my heart is finally free

Ev’ry chain undone By the power of the Son

Risen Savior reigning King

(Chorus)

your address, phone, and/or e-mail if you are a guest or have a change to report. Pass the Roster

back to the center aisle when all in the pew have signed it. The Friendship Roster helps us in
