Student Schedules/ Changes

First Days of School

Student Schedules Where?

Misplaced or not picked up schedule• If a student has misplaced or not picked up his/her schedule, they should listen for the announcement of where to report on the first day of school.

Class missing on schedule• Students with a class missing on a schedule – If a student has a blank spot on their schedule for first semester, he/she should go to the Guidance Department at the beginning of the class period that has a blank.

Off-campus classes• Students with off-campus classes (RCCC Catawba,, Off-Campus Internships, and Classes on other RSS campuses) – These students should go to the Cafeteria during the designated period.

Schedule Changes

• Schedule Change Forms can be obtained during the day from Guidance or the Guidance blog: http://wrhsschoolcounseling.blogspot.com Please direct students to this site.

•Students should complete the form and turn it in to Guidance. Please do not send students to guidance to make changes. The guidance staff will call for students as soon as possible.

• All class change request forms must be turned in by Wednesday Sept 6. All classes will be changed by Monday Sept. 11 unless there is a extenuating circumstance.

90-100 = A80-90 = B70- 80 = C60- 70 = D

Tardy and Attendance Policies

Tardy Policy

All students are expected to be under the supervision of a teacher, every period of every day. Classes are to begin when the bell rings. All students who are tardy will report directly to the office or 400 building to receive a tardy pass to class.

10 Tardies to First Period will result in the loss of the parking permit and Independent Learning Time for ONE WEEK.

Tardy Consequences (cumulative) Tardy 1-5- Warning Tardy 6 – Assigned Power-U Detention Tardy 10 – Assigned Power -U Detention for multiple days Tardy 15- Assigned to Lunch Detention for 2 weeks.

Also, they may be assigned a staff member to escort them to and from each class for 1 week.

This will continue for each tardy throughout the 9 weeks. It will start over each 9 weeks.

If a student is absent for 8 or more days in a semester or 16 days for the school year, the principal shall consider whether the student’s grades should be reduced because of the absences.

West Block meets 2 times per month on Mondays between 1st and 2nd. West Block will run every day during the first week of school.

Power U will meet every day for 1 hour. This time will be used for tutorial, clubs, intramural, and lunches. Offerings will be divided between an A and B session.
