A fter 16 years in real estate, Elders Penrith Director, Damian Sexton, has headed

back to where it all started.Mr Sexton has taken over Forge

Real Estate in Wallacia where he began his career, and turned it into his own Elders Real Estate.

“I used to manage this offi ce for the fi rst 10 years of my career, and this is where my heart is,” he said.

“To come back and buy it is quite a strange feeling actually, but still very exciting.”

Before starting his own Elders Real Estate in Penrith two and a half years ago, Mr Sexton serviced Wallacia, Silverdale, Mulgoa, Warragamba and Luddenham with Forge Real Estate.

“I ended up as a manger after two years with Forge, then ran it for eight years for the owners,” he said.

“My background has always been in a lot of acreage selling, residential selling and I have done large projects as well, such as multi-storey projects and a lot of land subdivision.

“To come back and service those clients is pretty exciting because I lived in Silverdale for seven years and I know a lot of them person-ally.”

However, Mr Sexton said this purchase is not to just buy the offi ce he used to work at, but to get in early before the future expan-sion of the airport.

“We are positioning ourselves now for future growth, between Wallacia and Badgerys Creek,” he said.

“The Badgerys Creek Airport is going to happen, and we are expanding 10 years early just to be ready later.”

Mr Sexton said with the purchase of Forge Real Estate, he hopes to give the local area a fresh new perspective with his young team.

O ne of the housing estates that is currently driving the NSW econ-omy, Jordan Springs,

has just welcomed its 1000th home owner.

33-year-old Jobayed Amin said he is excited to own the area’s 1000th home after moving to the growing community in April with his wife and two-year-old son.

“I was very surprised when I got an email form Lend Lease saying I was the 1000th, but it’s good,” he said.

“We were drawn to Jordan Springs by the prospect of a strong community that is aff ordable and convenient. I wanted to build something of my own, and land wasn’t aff ordable elsewhere.”

move to the growing suburb was easy when he was impressed by Lend Lease’s master plan for the area, and its close proximity to the Penrith CBD.

“For us the decision to buy here was simple, with the conveni-ence of a vibrant town centre and shops, impressive village lake, local parks and access to facili-ties,” he said.

“I work in the city and it’s only a 10 minute drive to Penrith Station where you can catch a fast train there in an hour, and we have a bus service so sometimes I catch that.”

Mr Amin said the community is great for his whole family, with its good community, childcare and the prospect of new schools in the village.

Arthur Ilias, General Manager for Lend Lease’s Communities business in NSW/ACT, said the milestone demonstrates how the project has been enormously successful for both Lend Lease and the region.

“Five years ago when construc-tion on Jordan Springs began, we recognised the need to meet the housing, population and infra-structure demands of booming western Sydney,” he said.

The NSW Greens are promoting a plan to legislate a link between rents and inflation.

“Investors denied the ability to seek a market-based return would flee – drying up supply, crunching the market and escalating rents.
