What were Napoleons beginnings?

Born on French ruled island of Corsica

His family were minor nobles At age 9, he was sent to France to be

trained for a career in the military

When the revolution started, he was a 20-year-old lieutenant

He was eager to make a name for himself

Napoleon had trouble picking a side

However, he decided to side with the sidethat was victorious Napoleon favored the Jacobins & the

republicans The side that devastates, loots, and burns

After several victories against the Austrians, Captured most of northern Italy

Forced the Hapsburg empire to make peace

1798, Egyptian campaign Lost most of the battles

Set up a 3 man board, the Consulate A new constitution is adopted
