Great News from the Tikkun Olam Neighborhood & Welcome the Stranger!

On some rare days, we receive news that makes our hearts sing, news that represents the culmination of a long, arduous effort. One of those very special days happened this week: Danie has received political asylum and she and Virgile can now live permanently and legally in the US!!!

Please take a few moments to pat yourselves on the back and take in what you’ve accomplished over the last 4 years.

Old North, St Andrews, and Temple Emanu-El (with the help of Clifton Lutheran) working together welcomed a stranger, and now that stranger is truly our friend and neighbor.

We don’t have the words to express our gratitude to all of you for all of your heartfelt support and generosity. A very special thanks to Jeff Goldman, who was Danie’s attorney and friend from day one. We are proud to live in such a welcoming community.

Jewish Music Neighborhood: Please join our Music Neighborhood for an exciting virtual event on Wednesday, July 22nd, from 7-8pm.

Our Temple Music Director, Jon Nelson, will be sharing the stories behind some of his original compositions and music videos, sharing some fun stories about his almost two decades of touring and recording with his Jewish Rock Band, Yom Hadash, and talking about some of his musical influences.
