New Hope Work Night - August 14, 7-9 pm A work night at New Hope is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14 from 7 to 9 pm. We
will be sorting and packing food. This is a great outreach opportunity and a great activity for families. Email Pam Caserta at [email protected] if you can attend.
Dogs for God This ministry consists of a group of caring individuals called to spread the joy,
happiness and the name of Christ using the assistance of their bonded relationships with their dogs to reach the elderly, homebound, hospitalized, etc. The next dates for those serving in this ministry are:
Monday, August 20 at 7:00 pm - The Children’s Home Tuesday, August 21 at 6:30 pm - The Jewish Home Tuesday, August 28 at 6:30 pm - Sarah Todd Home

Mission Central Needs—Updated The following items are currently needed at Mission Central. Donations can be placed
in the bins in the hallway across from the nursery. 2 Gallon Ziploc-type bags Fingernail and/or Toenail Clippers Band-Aids (3/4" x 3") 1 Subject Notebooks Towels (no longer than 27") Latex, Exam or Surgical Gloves Loose Leaf Notebook Paper (up to 200 sheets) Rulers (need to show inches and centimeters)
Run for God Take the challenge. Run for God’s 5K Challenge is a 12-week Bible study and training
plan that allows interested runners to combine faith and endurance training in a way that helps take people, even those who have never run, through their first 5K. We’ll be meeting Saturday mornings from 8 am – 9:30 am beginning September 8th through November 17th. Each class will start with a devotion and prayer time, followed by runner education and a group walk/run. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Sign up on your welcome card. Back to School! It's time to start thinking about Back to School. I know, I know, where did the summer go? What are your plans this fall? Our Trailblazer Children's Ministry is in need of Sunday School teachers and Sunday afternoon Adventure Club and Summit Seekers volunteers (1st & 3rd Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm). No experience necessary and all supplies are provided. Large and small group
leaders are needed. Can you commit to two Sundays per month? Join the spiritual journey with our children. Blazing trails to an awesome life with Jesus for every child, every day in every way! Contact Melanie Feldner at [email protected] for more details.
Belarus—Meeting TOMORROW Be sure to stop at the table across from the Welcome Desk as you leave the sanctuary this morning and check out the opportunities to be involved in Pastor’s Galena’s visit on September 15th to September 24th. Pastor Galena will be speaking at our Sunday morning worship service on September 23rd. A meeting will be held on Monday, August 13th @ 7 pm in the Family Life Center. Volunteers will be greatly appreciated at this meeting to ensure we can offer our sister church and pastor radical hospitality.
Hospitality and Connections Pastor Jan would like to gather folks who are currently working at the hospitality desk and others who might sense that their spiritual gift is hospitality. She would like to learn our process for connecting guests to be engaged in ministry and our process for greeting our guests on Sunday mornings. If this ministry speaks to your heart, would you come to a gathering Tuesday August 14th at 7 pm in the Resource Room?
Dates ahead for your planning Pastor Galena has obtained her VISA and is anticipating visiting our congregation in mid-September. AUMC supports the Krichev church and we are excited to have the opportunity to learn what God has been doing in this area of the world. Watch the bulletin for details to follow.
Aldersgate UMC is celebrating 30 years of fruitful ministry to this community. We will be celebrating our heritage in early November. This is an important milestone of God’s kingdom growth in the life of the church. More details to follow!

There is a Solution Group (AA) Aldersgate Church hosts Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) meetings Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm in room 206/208. AA is a fellowship of men and women who share with each other so they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. YOUTH STUFF! Youth Mission Day at New Hope Ministries We are joining New Hope Ministries on Thursday, August 16 for their Back to School Days. Come hand out backpacks, serve lunch and face-paint! Meet at church at 12:30 for a brief overview of New Hope then volunteer from 1:30 - 3:30. Returning to church at 4:00. Any questions regarding Safe Sanctuary and how to obtain the clearances, etc. can be directed to Melanie Feldner, Director of Children’s Ministries, who oversees Safe Sanctuary here at Aldersgate.
