Document your relationshipMaking the most of loops

Found the perfect match? It’s time to put your best foot forward. Once connected you’ll have access to a private loop with your counterpart. Use it to document goals, objectives and activities. Over time it will become a resource you refer back to.

The loop can be used to send direct messages, but it's better to think of it as a shared journal. The joint visibility of commitments and progression keep both parties on track towards achieving their goals.

Try to meet face to face if you can, call each other or exchange regular emails. Whatever communication works best for you. The key to success is documenting what you say you are going to do and what you actually achieve. Without a record things are easily forgotten and progress is hard to see.

Schedule meetings in the loop but go a step further and include a clear agenda of what you’d like to discuss at your meetings.

Follow up meetings with a task outlining clear action points that you’re committed to achieving before you see each other again.

Return to the loop and add additional tasks outlining any activities you have accomplished between meetings. Journaling in this way gives your mentor visibility of your commitment and progression over time.

Select the plus icon, located in the bottom left hand corner to create events and tasks or share files.

Regularly check the loop post meeting to make sure you agree with the action points. Add feedback and upload or link to additional reading materials or resources.

Add tasks for yourself or your mentee so you have a solid agenda for the next catch up.
