Hi everyone, and welcome to Carinbundi’s May Newsletter - where I hope you will all enjoy reading about all the latest news with

photos from a month of happy outings and events.

More work has been done recently on creating an ‘Education Centre’ for not only our customers, but customers from other Service

Providers. Please note that Tania Anderson, our Day Services Manager has arranged a BACKYARD BLITZ WORKING BEE for

SATURDAY 1st JULY - all customers and Support Workers are welcome to join in – there will be a sausage sizzle to ensure all the

“workers” don’t go hungry on the job! Come along and enjoy a day of fun. The day will run from 9:00am until 3:00pm.

I am happy to announce that we are working on a project to recruit more volunteers – this project is being overseen by Tania at

Day Services and Mitch, WH&S. More updates to come on this.

I see there is the Annual Childers Multi-Cultural Festival being held on Sunday 30 July 2017, and that Carinbundi is supplying a bus

to take customers down for this FUN day event – the bus will start their pick-up run at 8:00am, and the cost is only $7 per person

(which includes morning tea). Please contact Kaylene at Reception (4158 9600) to find out more, and to book a seat.

Happy Birthday to all staff and customers who have already, or are about to celebrate their birthdays during June and July.

All areas of the business have been very, very busy in this past month. The Respite House continues to provide inclusive support to

our customers, the L&L groups are out and about enjoying a variety of activities, Day Services continues to ensure their customers

have fun whilst learning, and Supported Accommodation clients are also out in the community participating in many different

activities.

It was good to see a great customer turnout at the recently held Rugby Union QLD Championship at Salters Oval. Thank you to all

the staff working in the background to ensure our customers were an integral part of this event.

The NDIS Workshops for families are continuing to be popular. A reminder to families that if you haven’t yet signed up to attend

one of our workshops, don’t delay as places are limited, and you will be given as much information as you need to get you support-

ed towards being NDIS-ready. Our specialised staff, Deb and Jade, are running these workshops every Tuesday here at Hinkler

Avenue, from 9:00am until 11:00am, so ring Jade or Deb on 4158 9600 and book a spot, to ensure you don’t miss out on these in-

formative sessions.

A big shout out to every Support Worker at Carinbundi –you all do a great job every day, and your efforts are appreciated.

Thank you too, to the staff who work behind the scenes – your efforts are also very much appreciated.

I wish all customers, families, support staff, and office staff a happy month ahead.

Carinbundi’s goal
