SAP delivers on its vision o providinuser autonomy by exposin data inplain business terms with a new andsiniicantly enhanced semantic layer(universe). In this release, the semanticlayer supports SAP BusinessObjects BI

solutions across all data types, includintrue multidimensional sources, whilereusin existin hierarchies, key iures,and metadata. With the new semanticlayer, users can also take advantae ouniverses based on two or more sourcesand et rele vant perspectives neverpossible beore.

A major theme across our entire BI suiteis the uniied user experience. Siniicanttime and eort have been spent on mak-in the look and eel o the user interace

similar amon our BI solutions. This easesthe transition rom one BI solution toanother, enablin a more productiveexperience with less time spent naviat-in menus. Across the BI suite, users willdiscover a new and very sophisticatedchartin experience. We have taken thereat chartin unctionality o the SAPBusinessObjects Explorer™ sotwareand extended it (with many more raphicchoices) to SAP BusinessObjects Analysis and SAP BusinessObjects Web

Intellience® sot ware. Finally, the newrelease introduces additional interoper-ability worklows amon our new onlineanalytical processin (OLAP) edition or

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, SAPBusinessObjects Web Intellience, and

SAP Crystal Reports® sotware.

This new release retains the scalabilityo its predecessors – rom small,nimble, departmental deployments upto the lobal deployments required byFORTUNE 500 companies. It also laysthe oundation or aster, modulardeployment, reducin deployment andmaintenance costs by includin all sortso automations and tools that make theBI deployment almost invisible to IT

departments. Even more important, itreduces total cost o ownership bysupportin modern 64-bit architecturesand virtualization environments.

main areas: authorin experience andenterprise readiness. By natively sup-portin the new semantic layer, SAPBusinessObjects Dashboards sharesa common interace or all data sourceaccess and oers an improved andinterated query desin experience.For the irst time, authors can desindashboards and supportin queries without havin to leavin their authorinenvironment. A simpliied desinexperience also eliminates Microsot

Excel work required in previous releases.

For lare-enterprise deployments odashboards, SAP BusinessObjectsDashboards takes advantae o newdedicated processin and cache services. Because these new servicesreside on the BI platorm, additionalinrastructure investments are notrequired. Finally, or lare lobal deploy-ments, dashboards can be served tousers in multiple reions usin locallanuaes, eliminatin the need to

maintain multiple versions o thesame document.

SAP BusinessObjects Explorer

All innovations to the end-userexperience recently brouht to SAPBusinessObjects Explorer 3.2 are nowdirectly available rom the new BI launchpad. These enhancements combine witha uniied search experience to makedata exploration accessible to a broader

user population.

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis comes intwo editions. The edition or MicrosotOice provides analysts with intuitiveanalytical unctionality within their amiliarMicrosot Excel and PowerPoint envi-ronments. Its liht ootprint its without

disruption into an existin SAP sotwarelandscape. This can minimize the eortand risk associated with introducinnew approaches to BI while enablin asmooth transition rom SAP BEx toolsto SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions.The OLAP edition provides sel-serviceanalysis workspaces or personal orshared use over the Web. Both editionshelp users quickly uncover businessinsihts and share them beyond the con-ines o a sinle department or roup.

SAP BusinessObjects BI Platorm

In this release, the SAPBusinessObjects BI platorm retainsthe scalability o its predecessors butprovides a resh take on sel-service BI with the BI launch pad and personalizedinormation consumption with the BI workspace. The BI launch pad is a newsel-service BI portal and an importantpart o any stratey to provide accessto and deliver relevant inormation. It

oers a more intuitive look and eelthan its predecessor, InoView. The BIlaunch pad allows users to work onmultiple documents at the same timeand oers improved search unction-ality or indin relevant inormation.

The BI workspace is a new browser-based application that is part o theSAP BusinessObjects BI platorm. Itoers users a richer, easier-to-useexperience or indin, oranizin, and

workin with BI content. An evolution

o our dashboard builder product, it isdesined to centralize and uniy theinormation that people use in theirdaily activities. The BI workspacedisplays content rom not only SAPBusinessObjects BI solutions but also

other content types such as externalWeb paes, Microsot Oice docu-ments, and Adobe PDF documents.

In this release, the BI platorm oersnew alertin unctions, enablin asterresponse to chanin business condi-tions. Three tools may be used or alertcreation: SAP Crystal Reports, SAPBusinessObjects Event Insiht sot ware,and the central manaement console. Alert subscriptions are centrally man-

aed, and alert notiications can besent via e-mail or to the BI launch pad.

For improvin activity, compliance, sys-tem perormance, and usae analysisas well as monitorin the dierent BIsuite components, this release includesnew monitorin and auditin unction-ality. A new monitorin dashboardprovides insiht into the health andperormance o the entire BI landscapeand may trier notiications whenthresholds are met. Monitorin o the

BI platorm and root cause analysis canalso be perormed via the SAP SolutionManaer application manaement solu-tion. A completely overhauled auditinunction or compliance and usaeanalysis is available to ain visibility onhow users use the existin BI deploy-ment. Finally, customers already usinthe chane and transport system toolor application liecycle can now use thisor BI content liecycle manaementacross dierent landscapes.



SAP BusinessObjects Mobile

SAP BusinessObjects Mobile sotwarenow oers the same sophisticatedchartin experience ound in the resto our BI suite, so mobile users can

access key perormance indicatorsand visualizations anywhere they are.The sot ware enhances users’ abilityto take action (call, e-mail, or text) andbe more productive – common actionssuch as sendin documents are onlyone click away. And with its enhancedsupport o mobile devices and tech-noloies (such as WiFi) and simpliiedconiuration, SAP BusinessObjectsMobile sotware is even easier todeploy across the enterprise.

SAP BusinessObjectsWeb Intelligence

Three areas have been tremendouslyimproved in the new release o SAPBusinessObjects Web Intellience: userexperience and interactivity, data navi-ation, and interoperability. The sotwareeatures a modern user interace wheretoolbars are oranized by unctionalityand requently used unctions are onlyone click away or better, more natural

worklows. Business users and analysts will also beneit rom a new chartinexperience (includin many new charts), without losin the ine-rained chartcontrol they are used to. The new release delivers better datanaviation by allowin on-the-ly brows-in o data providers, objects, and data.Quick result validation, combined withnew sortin and ilterin unctions, helpsanalysts and advanced users understand

the data behind reports and analyses.

Business analysts and report authorsalso et a common desin experienceacross all data sources with a standard-ized query panel across the BI suite.This new query panel interates hierar-chies and makes it easier to use multi-

dimensional sources in analyses andreports. Reusin existin content isalways a ood authorin practice thatreduces time and eort, and in thisrelease, authors can reuse reportelements such as charts, tables, andqueries across documents. Finally,support o dimensional controls isextended to the consumption experi-ence where hierarchies can beexpanded or collapsed.

SAP Crystal ReportsIn this new release, SAP Crystal Reportshas underone several productivityimprovements: a new desiner inter-ace, support or our new semanticlayer across all data sources, andmultilinual support. Report desinerscan experience a new user interacethat includes new stylin with ribbon-bar look and eel, a new query desinpanel, and more eicient worklows,all deliverin a superior report authorin

experience.

By leverain the new semanticlayer, SAP Crystal Reports enablesan easier, more consistent querydesin experience across all datasources, because it is based on thesame metadata model used by SAPBusinessObjects BI solutions. Bysupportin our new semantic layer,SAP Crystal Reports enables broaderreuse o existin hierarchies, key

iures, and metadata.

SAP Crystal Reports now oers lobalreach with multilinual support. In thenew release, text objects, reportprompts, tool tips, and so orth can betranslated and localized. Report authorscan create one report and schedule it
