What's With All the Invicta Hate?!?
I'm not talking about here, I'm talking about lots of other "places" all over the web. I'm really surprised
at all the hate Invicta gets in many watch circles.
Do any of these people own any Invictas?
Have they even held one or seen one up close?
What are they comparing them to?
Sure, compared to some much more expensive luxury brands, you might be able to point out some
specific deficiencies from a quality perspective, but as far as value for money, Invicta is hard to beat,
IMO.
I'm amazed at what a polarizing brand Invicta is, it seems like a love or hate thing. Like many of you, I'm
proud to be a lover, not a hater!
War Invicta!!!!!!!

Budo , I think a lot of it is price point .You take some of the "old" names in watches and Invicta is cutting
into their sales . Its like the meteorite dial with Invicta ,they sale the prodiver at a 1/10th of just what the
upcharge is on a rolex for meteorite . I think some believe that a watch should always be in a "classic"
mm size .

I have always been pleased with the quality of each piece. Most hatred are the bandwagon type and
have probably not owned one.

I get that, but that seems to be the stance from other watch brands, not other consumers.
It's the consumer hate that surprises me.

Invicta is very successful at what it does but the gripes some people have in the watch community are
legit...There will always be 'haters' amongst some brands that are popular...some people hate Rolex
for a variety of reasons...
I started collecting timepieces with Invicta because of the affordability vs value...so I guess I'm a lover..

I dunno. I think if folks are taking the time and energy to hate watches or watch makers, there's
something amiss. I for one love my Invictas, love the value, and love what they do to push the industry
forward in design.

Some of it comes from some of the quality issues. The "Swiss Made", DD movement issues and any other
minor issue that comes up everyone is on the case.
I buy what I like but I've started to be more selective and I've been looking into more of the higher-end
watches.

I hear you, Big Joe, but I've seen it at other forums, watch blogs, all over Facebook. It's a whole bunch of
different "sources".
I understand that some of it has to do with Invicta being a "TV brand", but even that makes no sense to
me. So what, they sell watches on TV, what does that have to do with the quality of the brand?
The other side of the coin is that on a recent stop in Tourneau's biggest store here in NYC, I asked one of
the saleswomen her opinion of Invicta. She raved about the brand and said they are easily one of the
best selling brands in the store. And they sell everything there! They also sell Invictas at easily triple what
most of us geeks pay for them.

Theres definitely a lot of hate out there.
Maybe part is fueled by all the different discrepancies that have happened. Shop & eyal saying one thing,
come to find out later its something else? Even if it was an honest mistake, some take it as a blatant lie.
Like with movements, materials used, only available here etc. Could be a problem with shops sales
tactics that put the lemon in their mouth.
Maybe they have had bad luck with them. Or have received too many 'used' pieces from the shop. I
know I've had my share of bad luck. My first 10 invictas, 6 of them had to go in for warranty within 3
months. Even though I still buy because my budget doesn't allow for much else. And they are still pretty
good bang for the buck.
Who really knows the main root behind this. But there are haters for just about everything out there.
Invicta is more noticed maybe because they have flooded the market?

I hear about it here and looked one or two times and found nothing any worse than here..They have a
great product and can't be beat on styling.

china...dials that are not what they claimed orginally...the DD issues that have come up...and so on the
hits keep coming. Those people feel decieved ..is what you see or hear about on other forums or

you know its funny but I spend alot of time on facebook and on one of the more popular invicta forums
on FB someone made the comment asking what happened to Jim S...and all of a sudden it was ON...they
came out of the woodwork...WOW...Jim S. did this and Jim S. did that..OMG...the thread just will not
die..it started yesterday morning and its still going today...and the crap continues to fly....it seems like if
one person asks a simple question about Jim S.all of a sudden they come on to the thread and the
bashing starts...its like they are all children...its totally crazy....you ask a simple watch question on there
and all of a sudden your in the middle of a personal verbal attack...the last few days I have seen it
happen over and over again...its always the same thing too...they start out with...I read this on this forum
and why doesnt he answer this question or that question.....come on you idiots give it a rest already....

To me, it's just because they are miserable sons a b______es with nothing else to do.
INVICTA ROCKS THE HOUSE !! .. dollar for dollar as good as it gets. Only Renato and Android have been

This is my first post on Watch Geeks..And the reason i joined was because of all the negativity that are on
a few other forums that i also belong to. To me, if you don't particularly care for or like a product, its
better left unsaid. I happen to own 5 Pro Divers..1 Grand Diver ..and a few other
makes[Japanese,Russian, and Chinese] Allmy watches run fantastic and i have no problem with discussing
them with others. If i have a beef i keep it to myself. I don't feel my opinion will affect to many people.
But i will also laud those that have the good fortune of purchasing a watch that they want and like..Hope
to be a contributor her and enjoy the comraderie that this Forum exhibits....Jon

Ya, I don't get it either
I feel like I'm new at this, even thou I been buying and wearing watches for a while now.
There are many invictas that I love, and some that are not for me, there are some watch
companies that I don't care for there designs, there not for me. I have several different
watch brands in my collection, but I have more invictas than any other brand, and IMO they
are of good quality, I believe that for a watch $100.00 or less, the invictas are much better
quality than any brand I have run into. and for watches in the above $100.00 to $1000.00
range I have been very happy with the invictas I own. I can guess some people hate for one
reason or another, and I think it is sad, I may dislike or choose not to buy, but to hate is a
strong emotion that requires much energy, someone once told me, " you can't hate, unless
somewhere down deep inside you love." think about it. I love my invictas.

Even haters should kiss Invicta's you know what. Invicta has been a boon for the whole
industry. Many people who were introduced to the hobby through Invicta and ShopNBC often
buy watches from many different companies, myself included.

IME, most people who don't care for the brand are both those who've owned Invictas and
those who only know them by (negative) reputation.
The hard-core 'h8trz' are another animal altogether but most who don't like the brand are,
IME, just tired of the obfuscation and hyperbole used to sell otherwise mundane watches.
Many people started with the brand because they were affordable, because many models
have a strong wrist presence and because of the marketing efforts around them.
Many people continue to both enjoy and even love the brand.
From what I've read, many of the same people later left the brand because they felt that
they were deceived (i.e. weren't getting "the same quality as the expensive brands for a
fraction of the price") and felt that their money was better spent elsewhere.
IWG also appears to have moved their new lines to OMGHUEG which puts off a lot of the
more traditional WISs.
Based on what I've read on several fora, combined with the over-hyped marketing, ongoing
'misteps', very heavy discounting cycles, too many models that just look overdone - like
they're trying too hard to be a watch and shouting "HEYLOOKATME I AM A WATCH!!!", many
people just don't see Invicta as anything other than a fashion or discount brand.
IME, it appears that many collectors are put off by the very idea that the more dedicated
fans who basically regurgitate company marketing copy and/or insist their Invicta is either
every bit as "high end" as any other quality Swiss piece or, sometimes, that it' s even better.
In fact, I've read just that many times over.
As is the case with other brand associations, what we like and don't like has as much to do
with how we see ourselves, as much as how we see others.
As almost always, we get what we pay for.
YMMV, etc.

On the other www forums I frequent, A good percentage of it stems from poor quality and
bad CS experiences.

That is it in a nut shell, it's not going on for no reason. Some people have also had QC issues
and found out that to send it in under the warranty, often costs as much as a new watch. I
think there are some valid points out there. I know I have had issues with CS in the past and
am very hesitant to want to put myself in the position of having to deal with them again. I
can understand the frustration some feel.

is the target for haters as well..I don't let it bother me any more..It's all just so ridiculous

I will always be loyal to Invicta, it was Eyal's timepieces that started my collections. IMHO,
you can not touch Invicta on price point!
