Where in the world

are rainforests? Revision

Week beginning 27.4. 2020

What are rainforests?

Rainforests are very dense, warm, wet forests. They are

habitats for millions of plants and animals.

It is estimated that about half of all the Earth’s plant

and animal life lives in rainforests.

Rainforests are extremely important in the ecology of

the Earth. The plants of the rainforest generate much

of the Earth's oxygen.

Where do you think the rainforests

are in the world? Put sticky notes on this map to

show where you think the

rainforests are. Work with a parent

on this or by yourself.

Activities

Use Google to research where the main rainforests are

in the world. Point to the map on slide 3 and tell your

parents where the rainforests are. Make a list of the

rainforests in your lined writing book.

Can you name the continents each rainforest is near to?

Write these in your writing book too.

Activities
