Whites is located in Hamilton, which is around 1 hour south of Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. Hamilton is an ideal distribution centre, being on the main highway, with an international airport, and is in the centre of the North Island, home to approximately 80% of the NZ population. White’s superb warehouse facilities were purpose built, and are company owned, with 38,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, plus offices, board room and dealer training facilities with catering and restrooms, and training workshop. The premises are registered with the NZ Government as an approved site for receiving shipping containers. Additional bare land is owned adjacent to the company premises, and is retained for future expansion.

Whites is owned and operated by Keith Larkin, and his son, Kyne. Keith has over 40 years’ experience in the motorcycle industry, having started work for Mr W White upon leaving school in 1970.

WHO ARE THE pEOpLE RUNNINgTHE COmpANy?

Keith opened his own retail motorcycle store in 1978, which became New Zealand’s number 1 Suzuki dealer, and later a leading Authorised Harley Davidson Dealer. Keith also successfully operated an additional motorcycle store, a marine sales and service store, and a car sales outlet.

Keith holds a New Zealand Certificate of Management and enjoys challenging motorcycle rides in NZ and in foreign countries, and has ridden extensively throughout South and North America, and Australia.

Kyne Larkin is a shareholder and director of Whites, and has substantial experience in international business - to - business commerce, having spent over 10 years in the I.T. Industry in England at wholesale distribution level. Kyne returned to NZ in 2006 as White’s Operations Manager. He is married with 2 children and enjoys all forms of off road riding.

Whites employ 26 staff, some of whom have been with the Company for over 20 years, and many for longer than 10 years. Virtually every member of the staff are active motorcyclists who regularly race or participate in motorcycle events.

An interactive computer system (“Sprint 3”) is employed by Whites allows dealers to view product and technical information, along with pricing and stock levels, in real time, and place orders. Sales rep’s orders are taken via PDA, and along with dealer direct orders, are downloaded into Whites computer system, where packing slips and invoices are automatically printed, including stockist discounts. A computerised freight system provides dealers with track and trace details of their orders, despatch confirmation, invoice details and special requests.

Whites maintain 2 web sites: www.whites.co.nz and www.bits4bikes.co.nz, in addition to a dealer-only e-commerce site. These sites share the largest on line motorcycle product application resource in the southern hemisphere, with over 120,000 part numbers covering more than 2,500 models of motorcycles. A full colour 200-plus page catalogue of the company’s products is produced annually, and may be viewed on the company’s web site.
