First Baptist Church recognizes the challenges that are often present in a traditional seminary model: -The high cost of seminary training, resulting in some students graduating with significant debt. -The lack of practical ministry experience and hands-on training. -The significant pressures on students (and possibly wives and children) due to the heavy seminary and job workload. -The need to sometimes relocate to another part of the country to attend a Bible-believing seminary. A Unique Solution: The Master of Divinity program (from Faith Bible Seminary) at First Baptist Church in Waldoboro is unique in its approach. Each student is hired as an intern at First Baptist. The student works in practical ministry at the church three to four days per week year-round for three years. While serving as an intern, they receive MDiv level academic training from Faith Bible Seminary credentialed faculty, through a LIVE, INTERACTIVE, video feed. The students enrolled in this internship program are only charged $1500 per year for tuition and are given free housing and a stipend (to cover living expenses) while they are in school. This means that: First Baptist receives additional staff support and is actively involved in training men for ministry. The student graduates with experience, no debt, and a spiritually and emotionally strong family. As many of you know, we have officially partnered with Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, Indiana to reinvent pastoral training. Our first two interns (and their families) to be part of this program, will be arriving in August. The elders are very excited about both of these men and this new opportunity before us. I hope that the following information will provide a better understanding of how the program will work and how it will be a HUGE benefit to both FBC Waldoboro and the Kingdom as a whole! We, at First Baptist Church, recognize the need for "a new approach" to pastoral training. We also recognize the need to not only be a church that "calls those who are trained", but also a church that "trains those who are called". One of the ways we will seek to do this is through our Pastoral Training Program. Please pray that God would use this program in a mighty and awesome way for His glory! -Jason Jason Jason Jason

Why A New Approach? First Baptist Church recognizes the challenges that are often present in a traditional seminary model:

-The high cost of seminary training, resulting in some students graduating with significant debt.

-The lack of practical ministry experience and hands-on training.

-The significant pressures on students (and possibly wives and children) due to the heavy seminary and

job workload.

As many of you know, we have officially partnered with Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, Indiana to reinvent

pastoral training. Our first two interns (and their families) to be part of this program, will be arriving in August.

The elders are very excited about both of these men and this new opportunity before us. I hope that the following

information will provide a better understanding of how the program will work and how it will be a HUGE benefit

to both FBC Waldoboro and the Kingdom as a whole!

We, at First Baptist Church, recognize the need for "a new approach" to pastoral training. We also recognize

the need to not only be a church that "calls those who are trained", but also a church that "trains those who are

called". One of the ways we will seek to do this is through our Pastoral Training Program.

Please pray that God would use this program in a mighty and awesome way for His glory! ----JasonJasonJasonJason

The Stranger!

A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small

town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and

soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted

and was around from then on.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he

had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me

good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the stranger... he was our

storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures,

mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about politics, history

or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present

and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first

major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger

never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind. Sometimes, Mom would get

up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he

had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now

if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never

felt obligated to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our

home – not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our long time visitor,

however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad

squirm and my mother blush. My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol,

but the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis. He made

cigarettes look cool, cigars manly, and pipes distinguished. He talked freely

(much too freely!) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes

suggestive, and generally embarrassing.

I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly

by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he

was seldom rebuked ... And NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family.

He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first.

Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him

sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and

watch him draw his pictures.

His name?.... We just call him 'TV.' He has a wife now....we call her

'Computer.' Their first child is "Cell Phone". Second child "I Pod " And JUST

BORN LAST YEAR WAS a Grandchild: IPAD

Spring Rejuvenate Women’s Conference April 26 – 28

Theme : Clothed with Christ The infamous question,“What am I going to wear today?” is really a very spiritual one. Our clothes say a lot about us and spiritually how we clothe ourselves speaks volumes to others. God has unveiled the fashion secret of the ages in His Word. The way to have true, eternal, unfading beauty is to clothe ourselves with Christ. We do that by spending time on our knees not in front of the mirror, by spending time in the Word and not in our closets. Clothing ourselves with Christ involves putting on the full Armor of God and seeing how Christ Himself is each piece of the armor. Furthermore, to put on Christ is not only to wear His armor but also to wear His attitudes. Adorned with our spiritual armor and attitudes God enables us to stand victorious in battle and radiate His beauty even in the worst of circumstances.

Keynote Speaker : Bonnie Merrill Bonnie is the founder of Living Power Ministry, a speaking/teaching ministry born out of the devastating loss and betrayal of her mother and the faith lessons God is teaching her through it all. Since 2007 she has been speaking at women’s conferences throughout New England teaching believers how to live in the power of Christ. Our power as believers lies in Christ and while we always have Him within it is our choice to wear Him without.

Worship Leader : Kristen Hertzler Kristen graduated in 2000 from Philadelphia Biblical University with degrees in music education and Bible. She taught elementary general and vocal music in the Pioneer valley Regional School District in Northfield, MA for four years before starting a family. Kristen is now a full-time mom but also enjoys teaching piano lessons in her home, accompanying the New Hampshire Dance Institute, and leading worship at Grace Community Evangelical Free Church in Spofford, NH.

Join us for a weekend of rejuvenation and inspiration! Brochures will be available at the front desk at church or you can register online at: monadnockbible.org/women
